So technically, start here after downloading drivers?

 

After you get the activation key from matt and activate pcm flash, then you can go to the idiify step to make sure everything is connected right. Once that is ok, then you can select your tune file and flash. Follow the instructions, happy days.

 

You don't have to let it idle, but it gives the ECU time to relearn it's correct idle... I didn't the first time I flashed and the rpms at idle were a bit jumpy for 50-70 miles.

 

I let it idle the fist time for 5 minutes, then when I flashed again I let it idle for 10 minutes.

Its seems to help with idle relearn so I plan on doing it each time I flash.

@OVTune, got time in your sched now to put a M/T on the dyno?

 

Is a dyno test needed or is that just for visual proof of gains?

 

Dyno was used in the process of developing the tune, no need to do it. Again just flash it and go.

 

Um, just to be clear, I mentioned the dyno because a M/T running 1.03B/C was never tested. It is relevant because there are some things that work great on A/T trucks that don't translate well to the M/T. We also need some street testing/development by OV. That's all.

 

I floored the truck today on 1.03 with ect on, this thing can pull pretty good. Give them ricers a run for their money

Half way through routine weekend commute on 87. Stop for gas - Fill and flash to 91. Time to compare smile-o-meter.

 

I have 91 and while I like it, I want to try 87.

Don't know about better gas mileage, but certainly not worse. From my un-official testing, its on par, MAYBE slightly better. But I am on a variant of 1.03 (1.03c for us MT crowd) MPG seem slightly less, but I'm going to start tracking it now with my fuel app.

 

I actually think I got better MPG on 1.03b then I am getting on c, but I deleted the b files and am waiting to get them from @OVTune so I can achieve them this time

 

ok so the instructions say to not plug in the dongle until after the drivers are downloaded and installed (not a problem since I'm still waiting on the UPS Man) I was able to download just fine, but when I install I get an error saying dongle with specified search conditions not found? insight?
