    Right on.

Ok I got everything set up and was able to connect to my truck through the TACTRIX interface. Finally figured out how to select PIDs and create my own data list, and ultimately monitor same. It looks pretty easy to capture/save logs, but I'm going to enlist a co-pilot for that - I want to capture these stutters as accurately as possible.

Hmm.. only thing I didn't get working was the graphs showing real time data - only had the list on the left side of the screen with values changing.

@OVTune , any suggestions as far as PIDs go in techstream?

    So far I've got:

    Accel pos'n
    Throttle pos'n
    All cylinder missfire count
Intake VVT target angle bank 1
Exhaust VVT target angle bank 1
    Ignition timing cyl 1
    AFR
    MAF
    KC learned value
ACIS duty cycle (that's the intake flapper thing in the air tank)

no worries... I'm still vertical and the Auto is great everywhere except when I'm going up hills and want to hold a gear or down when I want engine braking. I didn't have the same complaints about the auto everyone else did, but as I said before, I came from a manual, so maybe I expected less than I should have. I think that may be the problem with my expectations for the tune, hearing how great it was I was expecting Manual like response, and it's just not. That's not the tune's fault, it's my expectation that was wrong. I've never tuned a vehicle so wasn't sure what to expect.

Are you at this screen? Double click on any of the parameters and it'll show live graph.

Damn touch screen stylus thingamabob on the flashing laptop makes me :annoyed:

Yeah I know I could hook up a mouse, but that's not too convenient on the road lol.

Just want to clarify my previous posts about my experience with the tune. The power is there... it's that when you step on the throttle to go up the hill and WANT it to downshift, you have to give it more than you'd expect. but once it does downshift... IT GOES! I think it's a direct result of Matt eliminating the transmission's want to dance between gears on flat ground. with the tune, a slight push of the throttle and it just accelerates... a little harder... accelerates a little faster... a lot harder... downshift and you go like a bat out of hell. problem is throw in a hill and you're either losing speed or speeding up, kind of hard to hold a speed on the hill if it's right at when it wants to downshift. I don't think you'll have a problem in normal hills most will experience, it's when you're going over mountain passes at 55+ that it comes into effect, or did for me. In town hills or just common hills are no problem what so ever. I don't spend a lot of time in the mountains, just decided to take a drive that way and noticed that.

again, all of this is still an improvement over stock, I just expected more (unreasonably so, I think) but just wanted to point out my experience in case it mattered to someone. I'd still buy the tune if I had to do it over again, no question.

@MOC221_ , had same results as you, I never got real time plots to work, but didn't try hard. @nxcess , guess I never double clicked a single one from that screen.

What I did while recording data was to save the files while driving (by pulling off road) to some kind of native Techstream format. Seemed like a 5min max time per file. After the drive I found I could load them into Techstream then use export function to put out csv or something similar. (Then import into excel, just straight opening them in excel made excel not recognize the separator characters for columns)

I strongly suggest the following if you really want to be able to narrow in on the issue and it is elusive. Record a video while you do all this. It doesnt need to be a good video, as the audio is the most important. Start video, then start recording Techstream. When truck misbehaves, say something on video. From replaying video you will know what time you are looking for to within a second or two. Then go to the Techstream data set to find that area. Makes it much easier to narrow in on it. Just +/- 30 seconds can become daunting and alot more unclear when you have 10hz data.

    don't worry about the version.

if your interface is empty you did not install the OBD drivers, or you dont have the OBD cable plugged in. Check the newest version instructions it is super simple now
