Thats what I mean. Tune then if you need to use your comp and want it protected, it should work fine until you want to tune again.

So as long as PCMFlash is on the comp no security? If this is the case, then bootcamp is even more appealing.

Just put it on a thumb drive and turn off defender when you need to use it.

So I'm clear on the TCU flash, is the process like this:
    1. Flash ECU. Turn off truck. Turn on and let idle
    2. Flash TCU. Turn off. Turn on and let idle.

Or can you stack the flashes? Flash ECU, then flash TCU. Turn off, etc.

    Thanks

    1)Flash ECU, turn off
2)Turn back on (don't start),Flash TCU, turn off.
    3)Start, idle.

Don't start the engine until both files are flashed.

OK, guys. I decided to bootcamp my mac w/Windows 10. Downloaded everything, activated PCMFlash, but noticed the Tactrix interface is not available in the interface section.... Any suggestions on why this is happening? Worked on my PC just fine but was an older version of flashmanager.

Mat has decided to go with a tune that will allow us to run 50% e85 with twin PTE6466 Turbos and a supercharger for low end

I just got done flashing the truck! I had absolutely zero problems. I’ve never done any tuning and I don’t know much when it comes to working with computers. I just made sure all anti virus was off and defender was off. Letting it idle now and can’t wait to try it out!

I know this may seem unlikely but here me out. I once had a car which was tuned with a Cobb AccessPort V3. It stayed with the car (in the glove box) in case I ran into a situation where 93 wasnt available and I needed to flash a tune for low boost and retarded timing. Well, one day someone broke into my car and decided they needed a V3 which was vin locked and 100% un-usable to them. Luckily Cobb has awesome customer service and only charged me $250 instead of the going rate of $500 for the V3 but it still was a crappy situation. Moral of the story is, beware of the thief!

I just flashed my truck yesterday. I ran into problems because of Defender and my Webroot AV. I’ve now disabled Defender and made exceptions for the tuning program in Webroot. There were a couple of files the Webroot had already quarantined so I had to allow these. Before I found this the flash program was shutting down in the middle of flashing my truck. Mat helped me figure this problem out. The truck runs like a boss now.

Anyone running the tune and pulling a travel trailer? Curious to the throttle difference at the low end when taking off. I have a 6mt and the initial takeoff currently is less than stellar, even with the 4.30 rear end.

For anybody curious, I discovered that you can still allow Windows Defender to run and build an exception for PCMFlash. I had previously reported that I had done this and it didnt work, but I tried again and it worked for me this time around. I went ahead and made the exception for everything in the folder that I have for my maps and drivers and software, so more than just PCMFlash is protected

Ive gone through a little over a half a tank with the 91 tune and I am getting better MPG than ive achieved in the past. I get up to speed a lot faster and less lugging up hills, i think it works out to a better overall efficiency ..instead of slowly creeping up to speed, i use a little power at first to get up to the speed which allows more coasting and carrying speed over oncoming hills. I live in a very hilly area.
falken wildpeak 265/70-17 and air dam removed. im not sure why there is no date for my last fill up, i always click update when i fill the tankIMG_1392.jpg

Went to flash just now. Got about 25% into the ECU update and received a warning that Windows Defender is quarantining a malware file. The thing is, I have Windows Defender turned off. Verified that it’s off after unplugging everything.

Anyone else experience this? Very strange.

For me, if I could load pcm flash, it was off and have not experienced this issue.
