It depends on how they operate. A flash shouldn't take long, but some dealers may need to "replicate" issue before they will apply the TB. Since you're time constrained, it's easier to leave it if they will give you a loaner.

Just use techstream to update it yourself if you can't work it out with the dealership and if you have the tune kit already (I'm assuming you do) just use the tactrix it's what i did since the dealer refused to well more they said they did but never did it I still have the CUW file so all you'll need is a copy of Techstream from here https://topscantool.com/toyota-techstream.html and I can email you the CUW file which should update your ECU to 04B03.

That's another thing, there's nothing wrong with my exu, it shifts fine, runs fine, the only thing I've noticed is the fuel cut off at high rpms but that isn't ecu related it's the fuel pump
