Technically, any update that Mat releases is optional since a map release won't result in the ECU being remotely flashed lol

Well, here's the problem though - that sensitive "digital style" throttle was also implemented on the M/T files (1.03B and to a lesser extent 1.03C). Now some owners reported zero issues with it, and I believe them. Some others though (myself included), were having less than ideal results. Engine speed would immediately jump from idle to ~1000rpm with the slightest touch, and if you tried to hold a constant RPM in the 1000 - 1500 range, it was almost impossible. You'd get this see-saw effect, and/or a strange kind of quick 100-200 rpm blip up and down at a rate of about 1 Hz. I probably don't have to tell you what an absolute mess that is in low range driving a manual.

Anyway, not trying to argue. I'm just pointing out that just because a file is great and works for most ppl doesn't mean it does for all.

Agree that Mat's work is amazing, and the fact that he took the time to sort out a number of issues (in addition to those mentioned) is top notch customer service IMO.

I should probably go find something productive to do. I’ve already spent the last 3 days watching this thread...

We keep telling them to not hesitate or they’ll miss out. Looks like they missed out on the lifetime subscription with future turbo upgrade!

Plot twist: those rare individuals who ordered their OVT recently and have shown their patience with the wait times for shipping and licensing emails and whatnot receive surprise turbo installs by Mat, along with a free first month for their subscription

**Disclaimer: turbos may or may not be repo'd units from other users :rofl:o_O

We should give the first one to @MOC221_ since he was last on some of the latest tunes. And that way if there’s issues and the truck blows up we can just blame it on the 04b10 guys lol

I have some of the issues mentioned. Matt is working on most of them. None of these issues appear to be harmful to the truck... They are more of driveability issues and peoples nit-picking imo.

End of the day, I would trade the way the truck drives post-tune with minor issues over the stock tune with the NUMEROUS issues every single day.

Drove the truck a little tonight. Truck seems to be running a lot better from a cold start.
I didn’t have a bouncy idle going forward or reverse, and I didn’t have any of the surging that I was experiencing previously.

I’m hopeful things will continue to improve and the truck should be pretty close to that happy point where I can leave it alone and focus on something else. I need to put more miles on the truck though so only time will tell. But once again Mat has zero’d in on the issues and addressed them.
I’m thinking by the end of this year there probably wont be a need for any updates.
