yeah and at the time it was just mall crawling

no and there had to be something in the installation. The shop is extremely reputable so it'll get worked out.

Don't want to clutter this thread with diff talk, so carry on.

    Matt - amazing job!

@OVTune i know you put a brief description about the optional 1.03 tune and you said you made even more adjustments. Did you add anything else other than the tip in and smoother shifting?

Anybody have a speedo calibrator that isn't in-line, because I really don't feel like tearing my dash out to put that in. And I don't see how an in-line will tell the ecu the new speed to help with shift points

If a TT kit is offered on the future, Are we going to be able to use the current Calibration Kit? (I would assume yes!)

i believe he's answered no to that... someone can correct me if i'm wrong. that would be a different kit (software... maybe you're talking about hardware?) entirely with a whole new round of R&D.

I would assume that the current calibration kit will still be able to be used with the turbo kit as long as the stock computer can be tuned properly to account for the added boost/cylinder pressures. It would absolutely require developing and writing a new tune.

The way I read the above posts, “Calibration Kit” is hardware.

I believe by "kit" @ramirj2 is referring to the hardware, not software. Same hardware, different software (tune).

    Yes!
I was referring to the Hardware. If it can be reused and discounted on a Turbo Kit, that would make the $769 on the current tune and hardware kit cost effective.

I believe you are correct -

    1. Tactrix interface/cable (calibration kit, or hardware) can be re-used for the TT application, and I'd assume PCM flash as well; and

    2. Definitely new tune files for TT setup. I'm not sure if Mat said there would be an extra cost or not for tuning the TT if you're already OVtuned.

This assumes of course that the OEM ECU will continue to be used. I don't know that it will be for a fact, but Mat didn't mention a swap as of yet. Couple of obvious things I don't know (forgive the FI newbness) is how will boost pressures be monitored and how will the waste gates be controlled? Some kind of off the shelf stand alone controller?

    Anyone?

The hardware you currently have is just that: hardware. It is used to flash maps. There is no difference between flashing a N/A map and one for F/I. There should be no reason you cannot use your current hardware, unless Mat moves on to a new platform, such as a handheld not unlike SCT and Cobb Accessport devices, and discontinues support for your current hardware, which doesn't really make sense since...well, he wouldn't really discontinue service I would think since you have the licensing and software and whatnot. Map plus your hardware and software equals flashed ECU, and that is super simple. Convenient. No need to tear it all down. Sure, the whole process can be improved upon, but simply tearing it away would likely mean needing to update everyone for free. And why? Just to force an update?

Your current kit will suffice. It not being adequate is like saying a cup can hold water but not muddy water. They're the same for this purpose. Just to provide an analogy, not to make anyone feel dumb. Flashing one map is no different than flashing another as far as the hardware is concerned

Ok... I have about 400 miles on the tune. It is great and I love it. 1.03 is night and day better than stock and it’s way better than 1.02c. With that being said, I live just outside of Atlanta near Athens (near the base of the Appalachain Mountains, where it’s not mountainous but “hilly”). My truck is a 2016 and has a 3 inch lift with 33s. I love the way it drives when I’m near my house, but the problem is when I go to North Georgia. I just got home from an overnight trip to my cabin and the ONLY problem I noticed was between 4th and 5th gear. I know the truck has 33s but it was driving me nuts it the mtns. The problem was I would be traveling between 55 and 60mph on back roads in D and it would constantly switch from 5 to 4 when going up a hill. No biggie. The problem was it would drop from 60 to 55 mph and switch to 4th which is ok. Then it would climb to 60ish and shift right back to 5th. With the larger tires (my fault) it would then slow back down to 55 and drop back to 4th and repeat until I got to the top of the hill. Depending on the size of the hill this sequence would happen approx 4 to 5 times. The only way it would stop was to put the truck in S4 and let it stay in a higher rpm band to keep it from switching gears. Again I love this tune but if there was one thing I would change would be 4th and 5th gears. It just seems 5th gear falls flat on its face when sees any incline or hill. Trust me @OVTune has done a remarkable job on these trucks. I just wish there was a way to extend the pull in 4th gear under load before it switched to 5th to avoid the gearing dance while going up hills. I know I could either speed up or slow down to try and avoid the gear dance but the speed limit was 55 and wanted to optimized my mpg somewhat by not doing 75 mph in the mtns.

Sorry if no one follows what I’m saying but I tried to explain it the best way I could. I’ll also post this in the reviews thread.
