Understood. Now how is Mat gonna use feedback from the FI system and then control said system with an ECU that is not designed to do so.. I'm curious and am killing time waiting for a tune file. Educate me, please! :)

    You are correct!

    The harware should be capable.
My cuestion is more for OVtune
    Are you going to?

I used an SCT X4 on my mustang when It was NA that now I could use with any other tunner so I just pay for the calibration and not the harware making the initial investment cost effective

Lol idk. But idk if it's that hard? Vehicles with non-FI from factory get boosted all the time. Some use standalone aftermarket systems, some don't. We'll have to see.

I expect a great person to ask would be @OVTune himself. Lol we speculate on so many things in these threads when we should probably just ask the man himself haha

Lol, yup just spitballing. He'll eventually chime in.

I have zero experience with any kind of FI so it'll be rattling around in my head until someone straightens me out :)

I don't want to speculate over much because my FI experience is limited to vehicles that were already boosted from factory. Made upgrading rather simple, all things considered. My own experience with FI on vehicles not running boost from factory is limited to driving time, rather than all the stuff behind the scenes, and stuff I've read, threads I've followed, things like that

    I hear you.

As for what Mat will do, I expect we'll find out closer to finalization of the turbo kit.

Yep, I've pretty much experienced the same thing. On fairly steep, hilly terrain at 55-60 I feel it holds 5th a little to long, then when it downshifts to 4th you're so far in the throttle, it takes off, so you let off the throttle and back to 5th it goes. I think that under that kind of load if it would downshift a little sooner and hold 4th it would be better. The tune is still a far cry better than stock!

Mat also mentioned custom exhaust. I'd likely buy it (NA version) if it was a rear cat delete setup, similar to URD Spec U. I don't want to mess with O2 sensor emulators / thrown codes etc etc. Plus, well, I don't wan't to be a complete emissions "douche" lol

Ok I’m glad I’m not the only one and at least someone knows what I was talking about. I feel like 4th gear is a monster in the hills at speed, but as soon as it shifts to 5th it just falls flat. Just like you said I wish 4th would hold longer before upshifting to 5th.

I would be in for the rear cat delete y pipe if it would hook up to the stock location of the rest of the dowstream exhaust system since I alrerady have a aftermarket cat back system.

Good point. That would be a really smart move on Mat's part and he's probably already thought of that. Max flexibility.

There's also a counterpoint to this I suppose.. if you want to sell a system that's tuned from one end to the other to work with his calibration. We'll see i guess!

Would it work to drive in S4 going up the hills ? I am guessing you both are using D .

I don't think any tune can't fix this...go back to stock tires, 4.88 gears or wait for the TT are your options as a I see them...cheap, not cheap, and expensive (and wait)...

That’s basically what I had to do.

I get it . Where I live everything is constantly up and down . I never use D and use S5 and I usually only see 5th going down hill .
Edit -Stock tune stock tires .

I think were quite a way from twin turbos. We can barley get a perfected ECU flash. Seems this truck is one of a kind. Also i dont think he will begin that TT project until this ecu flash has been perfected for the most part. Which takes time.
