I've used the 87 and 91 each, quite a bit, and they both have their benefits. The 91 map is predictably more fun, but the 87 maps are nice too if you're someone who is looking to stay on 87oct and still wants improved drivability

87 was good, truck drove 100% better than stock, but at a lower rpm it just fell flat on it’s face.

Mines still does this. We need data loggers apparently. When i go to mash that peddle it takes a second to respond like its thinking. I know its not the peddle my suv has that stupid electronic fly by wire or what ever its called and responds instantly. Its somthing else

I'm interested to hear your comparison between the two. especially regarding the low end, under 3500rpm.

Toyota has made so many great things over the years but I think they must have had the interns make the 3rd gen Tacoma.

At least they got one thing right and still gave us a real transmission even if the engine leaves something to be desired.

An EcoBoost version of this truck would kick ass and take names. As is, it ain't too damn bad.

While you'll still hit a bump in power above 3500, the main reason I flashed back to 91 after running 87 was because of the very noticeable difference in the low-end. that's what (to me) makes the truck feel so much lighter driving with the 91 tune.

Yeah I'm so torn on whether or not I'll end up eventually pulling the trigger on Mat's eventual turbo kit and go #Tacoma3.5LEcoboost

I guessed I should have clarified in my original post that the 1.03C tune (which I’m running) seems more than enough
