Do I understand correctly that there is 'engine braking' in 1-3, but not 4-6? I've liked what I've read about the tune, but I can't buy into a tune w/o 'engine braking', at least in 1-4. I can imagine getting that 'right' will be a bear.

I'm not releasing any details or info until this is fully finished and tested. Been on the phone a lot today to get the damn dongles through customs.
For people with pending orders (or pending shipments) I apologize again for waiting. I've been grilling the dev to create a better solution. I'm also speaking with a second developer to get us new flashing tech.

    Couple things:
1.03 current form is 99 percent done with updates being done to fix things that are happening to certain trucks.

1.03 was developed based on community feedback, and it looks now that the feedback of some are people who only had 1.03 after release. In this case the things you "wished" to see in the tune aren't there because we never got that feedback for it. Which means simply, the early adopters are getting what they asked for, as they were the ones to push development forward.

Moving forward from 1.03 will be updates to it based on new feedback. 1.03 is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a true tune that eliminates transmission stupification.

The tune has accomplished many things for this truck but there are still some limitations in the hardware that cannot be defeated.

    Honest. Open. Informative.
Thanks Mat for your work. The 91 tune has made the 35”s much more live-able day in and day out.

@treimche I added you to the same convos that I added @TFly to, which assisted him in getting set up. Fair warning, there's a bit of fluff to pass over, but between the two, you should be able to use the info to get everything you need to set up that thread of yours accordingly.

In addition, pg130, post #2594 and some follow up posts, of the MT thread has some info that is useful as well. And a Techstream link.

Good luck 3rd gens on this, hope the supercharger comes out soon for the 3.5 motor so you all get that real added power (100hp) as an option.

Thanks for the update - but seriously, take your time and don't go crazy trying to meet everyone's expectations - there is always a segment that isn't happy.

Just ordered this week - please take your time and if you're satisfied with it, we will probably be also, well - all but the few who are never satisfied.

Check back in a few months when OVTune gets the twin turbo setup complete. These tunes are just the beginning and it’s a lot more than just a little extra power.

I’m not sure if this has been covered yet. I know Matt said not to flash back and forth. I started with the 91 tune and did 500 miles on it. Switched to 87 and they both felt great besides the lag around 40 mpg crushing around town when the truck would shift up. I have done 1,000 miles on 87. I recently added sliders to the truck, they weigh 86 lbs a piece. After install I noticed the truck would start to show signs of struggle on hills and the highway. I flashed back to 91 and I feel the same effects, the truck is not easily keeping up with speeds above 70 very well on an incline. I’m almost applying as much pressure to the gas pedal as I was before the tune now. Maybe I’m crazy? Or just got used to the tune and am wanting more? Any thoughts or help? Thanks guys. Also I do not have a tech stream so I’m sorry I couldn’t provide any more data.

Probably getting used to it. Seat of the pants feel of performance is flawed this way. Ive had many race cars and this is how it goes. Weight makes a huge difference go down hill and feel the difference. Anything above 65MPH is trying to push A heavy square sail thru wind. Thats why the gas millage at 80MPH is lower than at 65MPH and drastically lower at 90MPH. I Re-geared to 4:88 first because I have 33" tires live at high altitude and Tow. Its about where I wanted it from the factory. I still ended up buying the OV Tune last night after waiting for him to get the Transmission shift learning figured out. Ive hated my trucks shifting and the dead gas pedal since about a month after buying the truck In 2016.
