@OVTune why does the dyno new tune pulls show a significant drop off of torque starting at 5000-5250 RPM when the stock tune pulls peaks at about 5250 and stays flat all the way to 6000? was there nothing at the top end that could be gained? I know you have said there is more on the table for 91/93 fuel. I also think you said the exhaust was restricting flow at the top end.

any thoughts about doing it? separate from the tune... just wondering. I plan on doing 4.88's and 285's as well as the tune and want to see if anyone else was in that boat.

I will do front locker and gears at sometime when these tires wear out. Will be going to 35"s. Hoping someone comes out with 2.55s for the turd gen and is one reason I am waiting.

Great review except for this comment. Many people are probably wondering the same thing. Was it worth what you paid? Would you buy it again? Are you thinking the same thing, expecting more for your money? Thanks for review.

there's a difference in giving feedback on the product and someone just crying that it's too expensive. The tune is fairly priced compared to other tunes, but yes feedback from someone who actually has it (especially since it's not all based on #'s but throttle response and shift points) is invaluable.

This was not part of my review but a comment back to a guy that had already wined about the cost.
Not my first tune on a car/truck and know the price is in line with the market. We all wish it was cheaper and when another company comes on (and they will) it may drive prices down some. Is it worth it to me, yes. The throttle sensitivity change and torque gains are well worth it. For me I will be improving flow and this will allow me to get true gains from those bolt ons. Mat is great to work with and think the alpha tune is a conservative start and there is more on the table without to much or any impact to reliability.

Couldn't agree more. The throttle and torque are worth it for a Tacoma. Everything else is just icing for me.

I can respect the conservative approach too. I don't want to run my truck into an early grave, but maybe I'm a minority there. :notsure:

Just had my gears finished up. Once I install them I'll end up getting this. I have 33's so I'll have to let you drive the truck sometime and see how it feels.

I like the idea of a conservative tune in D and S but an aggressive tune in those same modes with the ECT pushed.

sounds great! I'll definitely be getting both eventually, just kinda want to know what I'm looking at. I'll have the tune by the end of summer... lift/tires/gears will be winter/spring though I think

^ same boat. I decided on gears before the OV tune. I think it will be more beneficial to me(running 35's) right off the bat. Plus it will give me time to read some first hand reviews and what kind of gains once bolt-ons are added.

    Removed the air dam lol
I think you may be reading the graph wrong. The bottom two lines are HP the top two lines are torque. The line colors are showing the different runs. One stock, one tuned. ALL engines meet their torque and HP at the 5250 mark. At that RPM the Torque drops off and the HP starts to take over.

$765, not bad. I can't wait for more availability and more reviews.
