    Damnit I can't help myself,,

    @OVTune ,

As far as intake valve timing and cylinder filling goes... I assume the maps use data such as load, RPM etc. Can a map use vehicle speed as well? I'm trying think of a way to keep this engine in one mode (Otto) while going slow.. like less than 5 MPH? Help me out here guys, trying to get this thing predictable while in 4lo, since there's probably not a way to directly access a specific map just by selecting 4lo.

Edit: I understand how DFCO works, my question is separate and apart from that.

    Oh yeah, :rasta:

I have about 100 miles on a second map with revisions to the torque progression table. As the miles add up the tune feels better. I used to have to drop gear to get any half way decent acceleration. Now i can float a gear, smash the throttle and go. No more bullshit lag. Also my gas mileage is noticable better. Here is a short log from 3000 to 4k in 2nd gear until i can open it up on a frontage road with no traffic. Ignore until line 18. Looks like A/F could easily lean out some more, throttle postion is a hell of alot better at 79, and fuel trims are between -10/+10. Mass air flow for me can be substantially increased with a short ram intake and free flowing exhaust.....alot of potential for power still exists.

So...I have about 400 miles on the tune from Friday night. A lot of city driving and highway driving. Today I have 180 miles of freeway, hills, canyons, and mountains that range from long flats, long hills to steep climbs up to 9800 feet from 5500 feet in ABQ. This tune has completely changed this truck. The throttle response is very very sharp now as it should have been in the first place from Toyota. The additional torque in the midrange is amazing. It makes the truck so much more smooth and fun to drive. ECT mode is very aggressive compared to the normal drive mode in D. I have been driving in ECT most of the time because it pulls so hard with half throttle in the midrange from 2nd, 3rd, 4th. I was averaging 17-18 mpg before and I am getting 16-16.5 now which is better than I expected. I cannot tell you guys how happy I am with this tune. It completely changes the driving experience. My daily driver/work truck is a 16" Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi, and going from it to the Tacoma on the weekends has really been disappointing. That has changed now. @OVTune product is worth every dollar. Honestly I would have payed even more for this level of performance upgrade.

@OVTune any updates on integrated speedo recalibration?
Another member did not think it was possible going through the main ECU
"Skid Control ECU pulls that calibration data from the Engine ECU, however the Engine ECU is not what sends the speed signal to the gauge cluster"

Are you gaining access to the Skid control ECU As well in your tune?

Have not looked into it at this time sorry. I'm sure gearing information is within the ECU.

No problem, figured I'd ask. If viable, that would be the cherry on top. It would be very beneficial because a lot of guys run oversized tires.

Please help me understand.. Once we load in the tune, we have to drive it for X amount of mileage for the tune to be fully programmed? Waiting on my shippiment so want to know as much info as possible.

Once you write the tune the ecu is programmed. At the same time the ecu needs time to adjust to all the changes, like fuel trims and driver input. Id say take it easy for the first 10 miles and then romp on it.

Just something to consider....the CPS is causing some people alot of problems...plenty of people who's trucks AREN'T on the recall list (yet) are replacing them and reporting significant improvements in driveability/mpg with an updated CPSs. I have a 2017 not on the recall list and I'm getting upper 14 lower 15 MPG in the city with the typical shitty driveability so I'm considering replacing mine in the next 500 miles or so. If the reports keep coming in about how great this tune is I'm sure I'll be a later adopter for sure, but it's a good idea to make sure you don't have any hardware issues (like a bad CPS) before you institute a software update....cause obviously you won't get all the benefits of the updated software if you have hardware feeding your ECU bad data.

Our v2 instructions have been sent out to everyone with current shipped orders.
working on processing more orders today. A batch of our software license dongles ended up not getting to us on friday, so we are shipping more out this week.

you can also download the instructions at the bottom of this page, https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/about-us

Curious about this as well as Im installing Nitro 4.88s later this month and a hypertech will be necessary.
With that said how will the transmission adjustments affect or not affect aftermarket gear ratios?

    Thanks @OVTune

Could this be the reason why I'm seeing mpg drop? I used to get 16mpg around town and now getting 14mpg drop the last three tank. Driving is the same....

I should probably just buy one and get it reimburse under warranty

    Correct!

    From the @OVTune site

"The software used to tune your vehicle is created by a software engineering company we work closely with. They are an international ECU editing and calibration software company, so there may be a delay from the time we receive your unique identifier code, to the time we are able to process and provide a License key.

Another Software Company we work with is EcuTek International Ltd. They are also international (UK), so the same goes for the process with our ProECU Remote tuning kits."

I'll be submitting all registration keys once the final emails come through and and be sending emails out later tonight.

I send out software related stuff after hours all the time.

For the latest orders still pending shipment our second and 3rd dongle sets are almost here. We have all cables, dongles got slightly delayed. We are very close to shipping out everyone left.
