Another thing I noticed about the AT shifting. Was wondering if anybody else has noticed or is experiencing this - I'm going to use a manual transmission analogy.
Previously: Shifts felt like during a manual transmission shift rev-match upshift you didn't have enough revs during clutch engagement.
Currently: Shifts feel like during a MT shift rev-match upshift you have too many revs during clutch engagement
It still "feels" smoother over all.

Edit: I mean this as an observation. Not a criticism/complaint.

@OVTune for the love of god Matt light a fire under customs ass. I just drove in 4th gear at 72 mph for 10 miles because th damn transmission didn’t like the head winds.

Flashed 1.04 this morning, and drove it about 10 miles around town. Felt great. Then I jumped in a rental car and left town.

Just talked to my wife; she’s using it to pick up furniture. She said “this thing is so much better now. It feels much more controllable when pulling away from a stop.” She used to be intimidated by the jumpiness.

    @OVTune, I’d say “mission accomplished”

Same here. Probably because of the leaner "tip throttle" adjustment?

I knew there was going to be something I will miss about 1.03. I love the "tip throttle" on 1.03.

So I don't flash anything to the gearbox option. Ever.

Mat this map (1.04 91) is spot on my friend. I’m stock weight and tires and it’s perfect. Feels like the rx350. Great job.

Better yet, tell me how you flash your truck. You flash the ecu to the canbus and the TCU to the gearbox? Or do you flash them both to the canbus? On any of the tunes that were released

    Try this again...

No doubt! I've never been so aware of wind direction and speed as I have since I got this beautiful bastard of a truck. The 4.88's have helped a bit to be sure...

Man, reading this thread is giving me a v1.04 boner. I was lucky enough to get in an order a few days before Matt took the site down. As long as I get the tune installed before my mid-June trip to west Texas I'm fine waiting patiently....

Probably both but more so the sensor... a lot of these sensors were bad. My truck has idled really smooth since I replaced mine regardless of tune version. 1.03 and now 1.04 could barely tell it was even running

    Flashed 104 87.

Took me 3 try’s. I was hitting the read button instead of the WRITE button.

So make sure you WRITE to load tune.

I watched you tube with my daughter in the truck while it was learning for 20 minutes. That was the smoothest learning cycle yet.

Put about 30 miles on it after that.

The truck will hold 1st gear around a corner now without bogging down or up shifting then downshifting.

3rd , 4th, 5th upshifts feel good to me, good rpm and mile per hour.

The massive bog/hole under full throttle acceleration from a standstill is gone. The acceleration curve feels weird. Like truck is smoother faster with 3/4 throttle vs full throttle from a stop.

Overall it feels more refined. I like it so far.:burnrubber:

I was getting somewhat annoyed - not frustrated but on 1.03 on a stock truck I was chirping tires way too often. Felt like I was riding an unbroken colt at times... it was fun for sure and wasn’t putting crazy stress on the drivetrain or anything, I just felt I had to be on it to “hold it back” at times. This has been resolved in 1.04 for me so far... now 75 miles in.

    Im confused man.

There were several tunes released. Some had gearbox tunes, some didn’t.

    1.03 was gearbox and canbus.

Flash 1.03 ECU file to the can bus
    Then
Flash 1.03 TCU file to the gearbox

If you happened to do 1.03 and now you want to do 1.04:

When you open PCM flash, it’ll be selected to the last thing you did, so probably gearbox.

1.04 doesn’t have a TCU file, only ECU. So flashing the 1.04 file to the gearbox won’t be good.

So I’m basically saying, make sure 1.04 goes to the P5CANBUS option, not gearbox.

I never flashed anything to the gearbox I don't think, that's what I'm trying to say

If you have never flashed 1.03 tcu file to gearbox, I suggest you do so if you are unsure and never did it previously.
