My truck did have the clunk coming to stop when cold, on stock tune. Then it went away with 1.03 tune. With 1.04, it clunks when cold. It clunks when warm under medium and heavy braking (which was not present on stock tune). Therefore, the issue is now worst than stock.

There should be in the same folder wherever you house the PCM flash and other software. Check your downloads and/or desktop in case they ended up there

    No need to read anymore.

Downloaded files go in Downloads, click the dropdown in the Open window and select 'All files'

And the tune didn't fix it? Mine has done it since new and that's the whole reason I'm eyeing this tune. Please advise.

It is different truck to truck. The tune made EVERYTHING smoother in my truck and I never had the howl from the get go. I run the 91 octane tune (likely going to flash to the 87 octane tune to try it) it is amazing how smooth and powerful it is now

I liked the 87. I’m running 91 right now, only because I did a trip for work and had a tank of 91 paid for. I don’t drive my truck like a bandit, so the performance gains aren’t worth the higher price at the pump. I haven’t noticed a discernible MPG difference. The temps have been all over the place here in central VA, so that has played a bigger role. I’ll be flashing back to 87 before my next fill up.

No clunking here. did it start recently or was it always happening since you flashed 1.04? and is it similar to the stock clunk when coming to a stop? I didn't have the clunk on 1.03 or 1.04 (but did occasionally on 1.02 and just like stock on 1.01b)

My guess is that for most folks this fixed the clunk - I haven't had the issue on the recent versions of the tune at all. When I did a little "remember how bad stock ran" test a few weeks ago the clunk instantly returned

The clunk came back as soon as I updated to 1.04. I waited 400 miles for the tune to "learn", but clunk still present. I even checked the transmission fluid level using the recommended fluid temperature detection mode method, trans fluid was at correct level from factory.

My concern is the clunk when transmission temperature is at operating temperature ~180 degrees F. This did not happen on stock tune.

Just digging here, but did you flash the gearbox with the transmission file when you also flashed the ECU? Only thing I could think that would be different, but even if not perhaps could be worth a shot as I know it controls some of the pressure stuff w/ the shifting (and maybe even TC but I'm unsure on that). What you're experiencing is definitely not normal though or we'd here more about it on here I'd think.

I'd also check u-joints but doubtful that's it if it only happened after you flashed 1.04.

I’m grinning ear to ear right now on the 1.04 tune installed with 87 octane. When you all say “buttery smoothe” that is litterally how it feels. Awesome job!
