Just flashed the truck for the first time - much, much better.

@OVTune you know what you’re doing brother. Well done.

THAT SAID... the instructions need a clean slate rewrite.

Nobody likes unsolicited advice, but here goes anyway:

Create instructions in PowerPoint and export as a PDF for your customers to use. This format will force instructions to exist on the same page as the screenshots, and inconsistencies will be easy for you to spot while composing.

    Things that were particularly unclear:

-That ECU (gobbledegook P5 can bus) gets flashed with ECU tune & TCU (gearbox P5 can bus) gets flashed with TCU tune. Seems totally logical but remember your customers know sweet fuck all about this and are dancing a jig blindfolded with kids dancing on their lap and a dog barking to go outside.

-I still don’t understand the whole tune identification then emailing you something phase of the process. Turned out mine was already included somewhere so I didn’t need to do it and it all kinda worked out but damn... that was painful man. That needs way better explaination.

Thanks for cranking through our requests and software issues (almost) real time - much appreciated.

    Cheers

Just ordered an AFE Momentum CAI and MBRB exhaust. Hoping this combo coupled with the tunes will really open this thing up. But probably not...LOL

Anyone here running this combo with OV's tunes?

Ok guys not having any luck on my end. Nothing appears under interface drop down. Dongle registered and just received pcmflash key and still no go. My laptop is on window Vista OS and have antivirus and defender off.

Thought I post on here before bugging Matt. I'm sure someone on here has gone through this and don't really have the patience to scroll through all 870 pages in here.

That only appears when your hooked up to the truck. Both dongles need to be connected to your PC as well. That shit had me suck for a min...

Wait.. are you talking about that little vacuum cleaner noise before the rpms jump up?

I have it too, but don't consider it a problem. Actually it's quite a familiar sound to me, at least on fuel injected cars - especially cable throttle examples. Back in the day, carbureted engines (properly tuned) would just rev immediately if you gave them a shot of gas - because they had a device called an accelerator pump that squirted extra fuel down the neck of the carb when you stomped on the throttle. That would prevent the mixture from becoming too lean and the engine bogging for a split second when you first hammer it. Well, there's no such thing on fuel injected cars.. the ECM just reacts to your input and that takes time. I believe that sound is your engine's throttle plate opening (more air) a hair before the injectors respond (more fuel).
To sum up, I've heard this sound for years on regular FI cars (not high performance) and believe it to be normal.
I also think the reason you don't hear it on the stock tune (or not as much) is that it was painfully slow to respond!

Yeah that vacuum sound is exactly what I was talking about. I was just concerned because prior to the tune it wasnt there or at least it was way less noticeable. Just want to make sure it's nothing to worry about and so far everyone that's responded says it isn't.

Hats off to OVT, got my tune on last night and finally with 2,257 miles on the Taco, it drives like I had hoped it would when I bought it. Looking forward to whatever comes next from OVT.

Hold the button for three seconds then mash brake peddle and do burnouts.

Same. Nothing shows up in there until you’re hooked up to truck.

??? Been on the OV Tune web page and looked through the install instructions, flash update notices and options for ordering. I am a little uncertain, based on install instructions I want to attempt this so I hope when I make the leap I will have someone local with experience and the install process will be greatly simplified. Also I see the order options include for 2016-2017 "Auto with Crawl Control" - which I guess applies to my TRD OR AT 4x4. I have had both TSB for shifting done on my 2016 so my ECU/TCU should be compatible with the OVTune process. Just looking for conformation from those with similar set up that your install process did not crash and burn and cause your blood pressure to go through the roof. ??? Flame me now if you must.

Glad to hear it is not as bad as the instructions make it out to be. I am a little west - Golden, CO.

Edit: East would be the proper direction unless you want to go around the world! LMAO on that one.

Ah if i was closer ide help. The insctructions were daunting my first time, after the second flash it was fairly easy and straight forward. If you decide to pull the trigger people here on the forums can help walk you through if you get stuck.
