Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Yea, I got prolly 10K miles. Of which were 2 trips from South East AL to Miami and back. I've been in this game since Sept 17 and have liked every change since 1.01b except 1.03. It was too harsh with 4.88s... Like you said, we'll see in a few years... I'm just hoping to get 300k+ miles outta this thing. I gotta turn it into a wheeler one day a Tundra axle swap and a Dana 60 front swap...

Would I get those off of the flash manager or pcmflash? And I guess I would just use the file “...219P5-CAN-bus”

I haven’t been checking this thread much the past couple weeks. What’s been the verdict with the clunking? Is it a 1.04 thing? Is there a fix coming or is 1.03 the only way around the clunk?

 

Its a stock thing.

 

I don’t recall the clunk in stock truck or 1.03.

I had it stock... I had it with previous tunes... On 1.04 it is completely gone!

Any news on a fix for 1.04 or is 1.03 the only way around the clunk currently. The only thing I will miss is the improved gas mileage of 1.04.

 

I have not receive update from Mat regarding the clunk. I flashed back to 1.03 91 last week, the clunk is gone. The aggressive throttle tip-in is annoying to me, but better than clunk coming to stop. MPG is slightly better with 1.04, but again, the clunk was a deal breaker for me.

On stock tune, the clunk was present ONLY when transmission temp is cold. On 1.04, it happens when transmission temp is cold AND warm.
