    Are you 12 lol? :D

Seriously, it's the drivability that's made this tune worth every penny to me.

You're seeing the powerband differences between the two engines along with the different gearing. 4Runner's are absolute dogs and have zero highway passing ability. One of the big reasons I traded mine off.

Even stock, the Tacoma's power band is higher so once you do put your foot into it, it goes. Loudly, gravelly, and even obnoxiously, but it goes none the less.

I feel that honestly, with just throttle mapping changes most would be pleased with the truck. Really, very few here would notice 15whp increase especially that high in the rpm band.

The worst thing on the taco is the horribly spaced 5th gear.

Also, there was a comment about not being able to get better mileage and power. That's just ignorant. Most modern vehicles get similar mileage to cars 20 years prior. It's not because the technology isn't there, it's emissions. Cars can run much leaner then ever and get wonderous mileage, but the nox gases produced and high heat from running so lean melt converters. so engineers have to go back and fatten up the a/f ratio to not burn out the converters and produce as much nox.

a tune can easily make a leaner a/f mixture at cruise, idle, and part throttle allowing an increase in mileage. Plus a leaner a/f can produce more power at WOT depending on a lot of factors. These aren't ecoboost motors or even turbo charged skyactive motors where minor a/f changes and boost pressure limits see massive gains.

I love reading posts of guys saying that these trucks should pull 5000#'s at 1500rpms and never down shift up a 20% grade. Seriously, wtf. Just a lot of ignorance and stupid complaints. Having your injector pulse width go wide at lower rpms' just so you don't feel it down shift is just eating gas and the engine can't carry that rpm at that load especially towing. Let the engine down shift or buy a manual.

I want to research the OBD-II module that came with the dongle-less OVTube kit. It seems there may be more we can do with this device after we've flash the tune.
Why let it sit on a shelf. I am at work and can't recall the exact module number and manufacturer...."Track-Itz" or something similar. Can some one post it up please.

You can use it to hook up to Techstream. I’ve disabled my seatbelt chime and changed my lane change blinker from 3 to 5 flashes.

You can also do data logging and send it off to Mat to help improve the tune.

Thank you....can't wait to play around with it. Can you recommend a good source for Techstream download.

Let's say I mess with techstream with my truck with the tune. Will it mess up the tune in the ECU if I play with stuff in techstream?

As long as you stay away from "Module Programing" and "Powertrain" areas.
You can always reflash if you messed up, and like computer registry files always have a backup saved file from your starting point

funny catching up from the weekend... this tune was never about 0-60 times. Though I'll be interested to see some results as my truck definitely feels faster off the line... but I couldn't care less about a 0-60 time in a mid-sized pickup truck I use to haul gear/toys/family/mulch/wood... What I care about is enjoying the driving experience of my truck every time I drive it, and with the tune I always know how it's going to drive and it always drives well with smooth acceleration, snappy shifting and near instant throttle response. Couldn't ask for much better. Many others would and do agree.

Any update on the tune files? I’m assuming we will get them tonight if no one has received them by now?
