Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Well I successfully registered my software but it's not wanting to talk to the ECU. When I plug in the hardware the identify button won't highlight and allow me to click on it. I've ran the Openport2 setup software and Norton and windows defender is turned off. Any ideas?

Try plugging the OBD connector to your pc first, and then run ToyFlash.

 

Tried it both ways, multiple sub ports...no dice

 

I had deleted and re-downloaded some files trying to make it work. The ID that my name is registered to is different than the one that I emailed to Matt, I think that is the issue. I have a new email into Matt.

ECU identified, 1st attempt! Copied, e-mailed to Mat, whole thing took me 15 minutes! And as a Mac guy, I'm pretty much a Windows/PC moron! Everything just seemed to fall into place thanks to Mat's updated dongleless instructions. One last step and........

Same problem I'm having exactly! I've done the instructions step by step and retraced several times. It will not allow me to identify my ECU.

A long two months of minimal progress to get my Tacoma OV tuned is a very long time in my eyes. I have been patient long enough.

lots of this happening. bad way to manage risk.

 

I have sent over the system ID, should have your registry file soon.

Normally it never takes this long. Continually running into issues with the dongle ate up time

Mat, just sent my ECU file to you and noticed I'm a 04A60. I thought I read in this thread that this is the old ECU and will not be flashable, I have an '18 TRD PRO! Is this true? I'll e-mail you the same question as I know this thread is not how I should be trying to reach you with a personal question, but if you see this, WTF? Anyone else is welcome to chime in with enlightenment. And everything was going so well thus far!!!!!
