I'm in this mainly for improvement in driveability, and all reviews I've seen so far have been positive in this respect. Terrible throttle response and a manual transmission don't pair well (yes I knew this when I bought the truck).

If you are looking at peak numbers then you really don't understand what is going on.

1. Power improvement is also area under the curve.
2. Throttle plate response since this truck is drive by wire.

No, I just saw where 1859 had gotten an email confirmation. I'm still waiting on mine.

 

A 10-15% increase in midrange torque along with much improved driveability is only "marginal improvement"? You've got some high standards.

 

I wholeheartedlyl agree with Comb. 10-15% increase in midrange torque is HUGE. That will make a phenomenal difference in the truck's behaviour.

the tune on my last car, a vw r32 with a NA 3.2 v6, gained only 12lbs/ft on paper all low and mid-range... and the improvement to driveability was huge just from that.

 

I agree that there has not been much feedback yet. I keep watching and waiting to hear more. I know there are a lot of shipping notifications! For the price I want to know more.

Installed yesterday so I don't have a lot of miles on the alpha tune, but I will say this: it drives like it should have from the factory. Throttle response vastly improved, when it downshifts (automatic trans) going up slight grades it sticks the RPM's where the torque increases are so it maintains speed without some of the double downshifts as the truck tries to keep up with the load. Here in Phoenix power is down just because of the high ambient heat and the load on the engine from the air conditioner. When the weather cools in a few months the power increase will be more noticeable. Sorry I can't offer anymore feedback yet other than drive-ability is so much better now than before the tune.
