Also, keep in mind that the kit's OBC plug has USB circuitry and conversion hardware too. It is electronics and subject to fail at any time too.

I assume you have already tried every USB port on the laptop?

Plug a USB thumb drive into the USB port(s), see if you can successfully transfer a large file to and from the thumb drive.

After that, I am at a loss. Awaiting the USB hub experiment results.

Chalk another one up to stupidity. Mat sent me the stock tune file so I went back down to the truck and tried again.

Turns out there is another USB port on my laptop cleverly disguised next to the ethernet port.

I believe this one may run straight from the motherboard and that could have been the issue?

I was able to upload the stock tune from this hidden gem, and I figured I'd give 1.04 another try, and it worked!

Thank you everyone who was trying to help. If anyone else has problems, make sure you search every nook and cranny for another USB port

@OVTune You dont have to say when but is Full Otto cycle im the future? Or has that been tossed out the window?

I'm glad you got it sorted because honestly, your horror story was starting to scare the shit out of me since I'm still waiting for tune files!

 

Just flashed mine and worked perfect first time and very fast if that gives you some comfort haha

Mat said awhile back that he'll look into a full otto tune but that it's nowhere close to being a priority and won't be until everything else is sorted out. And that he doesnt expect it'll be received well anyway because of the overwhelming concern for gas mileage from most people (not strictly his words, i strongly paraphrased that bit)
