I honestly think the tacoma resale value will drop with the turd gen tacoma, it wont be like it was in the past. I hope not for my sake when it comes to selling...But dang i thought this tune fixed it and i was quite happy for a while then i jumped in a truck with a real engine and now im disapointed again lol... we need turbos or superchargers. Thats the only thing that can fix this 100%. I need a more agressive tip in now. 1.03 was to jerky for me but i loved the responsivness and ease of acceleration. 1.04 feels to slow?

You have to remember not everyone who buys a Taco is an auto enthusiast who pays attention to their truck. The folks here on TW probably represent 10% or less of Tacoma buyers. The other are prolly clueless and will be the ones who keep the resale value alive. Everytime I talk to a fellow 3rd Gen owner at a gas station, car wash, etc... has no clue about a tune and the fact that their Turd Gen sucks compared to what we have! Literally I hate to call people ignorant but they are. And because of that, we are safe..

Additionally, I agree we need a supercharger or turbo option but gears are really the answer. I want a Turbo but only because I am a power whore! I love power period! I ain't trying to race a Tacoma but let's be honest 450 hp in a Tacoma would be better than a one time BJ from Ivanka Trump!

So how do I flash my 18? I see the instructions list with the downloads on the OV site is no longer there. I have one of the older setups as I flashed my 17 quite some time ago.

The tune files are locked to the specific truck they were flashed to. Therefore, in order to flash your ‘18 you can still use your hardware, however you’ll have to purchase new tune files for the new truck.

No, not the whole amount over again. I don’t know the exact amount, but somewhere in the $350 range, since you already have the hardware.

Makes sense, as it would be bad for him to allow you to flash multiple trucks with one purchase.

By already having the hardware, will I have to wait a few months like others?

    Initial Review:

The main reason I purchased this tune was to improve the abysmal fuel economy. As seen in my signature, I averaged just under 17mpg over the first 40k miles of owning the truck. ~120 miles after the 87 octane 1.04 tune, the dash is reading 19.3. I'm happy so far and I'm looking forward to seeing more data.

I believe the main cause for increase is the shift points. Prior to the tune, the truck liked to sit in a lower gear and coast along around 2000 rpm. Anytime I glanced at the gas pedal, mileage would decrease to around 10. After the tune, the truck will sit in a higher gear around 1200 rpm. Transmission will stay here until I firmly press the gas pedal.

Very happy at this point, especially with a 1200 mile round trip next week!
