And just a friendly reminder on behalf of @OVTune .... it's now Friday NIGHT where he is, and he has stated he'll have limited/no availability on the weekends until July 10th. Looks like he's trying to get folks situated as best as possible before he ends his (late) Friday night but I'd suspect slow movement until Sunday night US-time given his need to take weekends off right now

Received my tune files from Mat and flash the truck a few minutes ago plus now it’s idling for ten minutes.

Here’s a couple screenshots as I flashed the truck 1.04 91octane. I didn’t see any separate ECU & TCU files. Is it correct to say Mat’s 91 tune file for dongleless is the whole complete tune that flashes everything?

I believe Mat mention a few pages back that it has 99.9% of the TCU included.
    Happy motoring!

    Where you want to be
Initial Review for my 2016 with Nitto Grapplers 285/75/18 running on stock gears using flash file 1.04_87 in the first 20 miles of driving to work with a pit stop at Dunkin Donuts:

    From dead stop
    • Lower gears hold longer to reach cruising speed
    • Truck feels peppier when pressing the gas pedal
    Getting on to freeway
    • Truck definitely feels stronger and getting to 65-70 feels effortless vs having the stock tune up-shift gears to soon
    Driving on the freeway
    • Truck doesn't up-shift to early before it reaches cruising speed or when you don't want it to
    • Down-shifts perfectly when you need it to for passing or to keep cruising speed if the highway has inclines
    My personal feedback:
I've been on the fence about getting the tune ever since I put on the lift kit with bigger tires in Sept. 2017. Personally, I never felt spending the $$ on a tune would make up for larger tires initially. BUT, I've gotten so used to the stock tune with the larger tires that I wouldn't even know what to expect from either the gears or installer. So having to consider the cost local installers want for gears ($3k+), I felt spending $700 for OVTune was well worth the chance. At the end of the day, I'm thrilled that I both:

    - Purchased the tune
    - Purchased the tune BEFORE the gears

Why? Because if I'm this pleased with what Matt has done with the ECU/TCU on these trucks, then adding the gears later will stretch the smile on my face even further. Heck, I might get lucky and to be selected as the next Joker in a Batman movie.. :D:D:D

    GREAT JOB MATT!!

They already have... I looked at trading mine a few months back and the dealer in Wilmington, NC and he straight up told me. I was looking at my exact truck but a 2015. They wanted almost $4k more than what they were offering me on my truck. He said Toyota dealers knew that people were ditching the 3rd gens at a much more rapid pace than any of the other Toyotas.

    I believe
The dealer said your truck's value had dropped so he was going to offer you less? Such a strange and unheard of tactic.

Maybe another option would be to swap in the Tundra V8 motor? Now that would make the Tacoma an absolute beast!!

You wanted to trade your truck in and your dealer told you its value had dropped. Nothing suspicious here. Move along, move along.

Luck may be on the 3rd gens side. I heard a certain supercharger is done...they just can't tune it.
lets all put a campaign together to get a prototype unit so I can tune it.

Probably, but not necessarily. Supercharger will be what, $6000 or more? I have no idea what a good used motor would cost, but couldn't imagine it being more than half that. Then add in whatever other hardware needed and see what happens from there. But then would the transmission need to be changed also? I thought I read the Tacoma's auto trans is a lesser version of the Tundra's auto trans. What if it bolted on?

I believe he's saying the dealer was offering the 2015 for 4k more than they were offering in trade

Correct, and needless to say, I'm still a third gen owner lol. I wasn't about to accept that garbage.
