The only OBDII cable they sell https://www.tactrix.com/index.php?p...m_virtuemart&Itemid=53&redirected=1&Itemid=53

it's the same as provided by us, we just also include a cable case.

2 registrations pending and I believe everyone is caught up!

Is that dongle on the Tactrix site the same one you would be using? That normally comes in the kit? Is it the wireless one?

@OVTune Just curious but will the new TCU file have the S gears in full lock also or would making the torque converter normal be on a custom tune? I do like the feel with it locked but it seems a little slower than when in D.

Man. I was a slow poke. Got the files from Matt overnight and flashed it before heading to work this AM.

    Feels good.

Matt rocks. Speaking as an R&D engineer that has to interface with customers: a tip of the hat for not blowing the top of your skull off when people are naggy/disrespectful. Keep up the good work.

Yes. Same TCU file. Mat did say he his working on an updated TCU file that will be released in the future but the current file works. There is nothing wrong with it.

From the updated dongle-less instructions: "IMPORTANT: Note this software can only be registered ONE TIME to ONE computer (no expiration on use). Ensure that the computer you register your license on is RELIABLE and easily / long term accesible. WINDOWS XP IS NOT SUPPORTED. Virtual windows / Mac VM NOT supported."

Please pardon me if this question has been answered already:

Background: I plan on keeping the truck and tune for a few years. As a developer I replace my computer usually every two years. I bought this one a year 1/2 ago and specs have improved to where I will be ready for a new one within the year. And probably a couple years after that.

Now, I've seen many users say, simply buy a cheapo for the tune. No problem with $, but this is a potential major pain in the a$$. So I get the new computer and use it for the tune. Don't use it again for 6 months. At that time I go to update the tune, etc. and Win 10 insists on updates. Yes, you can defer updates for a period of time, but it WILL get you. AND some of these reset the system ID.

There are certainly other types of things that happen; stolen/lost/physically damaged computer. Need to reformat for any number of reasons.

Question: So they quest is: Is there any sort of process to resolve this issue should any of these things happen or is the buyer 'out of luck'? I know Matt has a history of resolving issues, but given the statement in the instructions, I'm concerned. I'd say this is the next process step that Matt needs to resolve.

But the 1 I used in my old 2016 tacoma is for 04B03 ECU ID and now on my 2018 it has 04A06 ECU ID ,or it doesn't matter ?

Sorry if I missed this but... Will we be able to continue use of our dongles or will we have to go dongleless.

@OVTune for those of us with the dongles are we required going forward to move to the dongle-less process or can we continue to use the dongles? The advantage I see of staying with the dongle process is that we aren't tied to a single compute and have the flexibility to use more than one computer.

You can keep using your dongle. Half this thread is about having your dongle ready so it just wouldn’t be the same without one
