Thanks. I did download the drivers, but obviously did not connect the openport 2.0 to the computer when I ran the P5Flash.exe to determine the System ID. It will be interesting to see if the result (system ID) is the same. I will post an update.

The system ID isn't related to it so it shouldn't make any difference

That is what I thought. I will make a hardcopy of the instructions , prepare a redline set as I do my install, and mail it to you for use in any future Instructions release of the Dongel-less install. I'am a little OCD from 39 years of engineering and manual writing. If it helps that is great - or you can use it to line a bird cage. All good here.

I can share inconsistencies and recommended clarifications in a post. I would like Mat to know of them first. I would also have to finish successfully the install - I just took a headstart on the item(s) that can be done without the License/Registration/Software. Obviously those already using the dongel-less instructions prepared and released by Mat have resulted in successful installation so from that prespective there is nothing wrong with them.

Old news. It does this in 1.04 for anyone with bigger tires. I run 265/75 16’s and it does this

Does it stock. Does it with 1.03 and stock wheels/tires. Does it with 1.04 with stock wheels/tires. Does it with SSP with stock wheels/tires. There's no hope for that issue ever getting resolved. I have put on many many miles at 3500-4000 rpms in my Tacoma on the highway at 70-75 mph because of this problem. You'll just have to learn to live with it unfortunately.

I just drove a 1000 miles today on 1.04 and I never had this happen the whole trip. It used to happen often on the stock tune. I'm running stock wheels/tires.

1000 miles in one day? Damn! It happens constantly when navigating wind and hills (even very small hills).

Yeah, I experience some odd 3rd>4th behavior on hills at speeds < 60 or so but holding 4th for a long time has not been an issue at all. I drove 400 miles on Saturday (pales in comparison to your marathon!) and didn't have that happen either. But I am also stock wheels/tires

Great post! Thanks for sharing - I actually didn't realize you had expanded Atkinson as much as you have, but it does make sense. I got nearly 20 mpgs driving 75-85 on the interstate for several hundred miles this past weekend. Which is un-heard-of in this truck. Driving those speeds almost always resulted in 15-16mpgs so I certainly appreciate the bump which actually offsets the incremental cost of running VPower! Looking forward to the next shifting updates. I'd say you're 90% there for sure, but as you probably know there are still some oddities that surface under some scenarios with 3rd and 4th on hills/under load as well as some additional tinkering with the torque converter lock status under some high load scenarios but for the vast majority of daily driving the transmission is SO much better than stock and very responsive.

approaching a hill to enter my neighborhood, stock, I would almost always have climb up to 4-5k to crest the hill. These days it just smoothly climbs <3k with no jerks or jolts of power!

    1.04. Kbro2s. ICONS.
I read the entire post and only like a few words about twin turbos. Disappointed.

I filled up in Lafayette and drove 425 miles east on I-10 on one tank of gas. I managed to get 22.3mpg on that tank going mostly 74mph. It's mostly flat until you get into Florida and then the hills start to roll a bit. My next tank started about 60 miles west of Tallahassee and got me to Tampa at 21mpg over 360 miles and no stops at 74 mph most of the time. All of this was in cruise control when possible.
I rarely had it kick into 4th on hills much bigger than what the stock tune would have gone into 4th for. The shifts were smooth, necessary, and created a very pleasant drive. I'm extremely happy I had the tune before making such a trek!

    Thanks @OVTune

In the fairly big hills between Austin and Houston I had a good cross wind off the front corner and it would kick into 4th but the truck needed power to keep going at speed. My next test will be going into Oklahoma from Texas because I have made that trip a few times and it's always windy. I'll report back in 6 months.
