    Dammit, you can't keep shit like that to yourself, you should have told us this weeks/months/possibly years ago.

    Looking for throttle body now!!!!

    **Edit**

    Stop! Stop! Stop!
    Holy shit! A new throttle body for the 2005+ 4.7L Tundra is $700+. WTF! Am I reading that right!
    Part #22030-0F010

    Is it just because it's a vechile they don't make anymore or something, or is it a Toyota thing? $700+ for a throttle body?!?!

    Been following up on this and to OVTUNE: does the alpha (and future) releases maintain the seamless port injection as well that helps keep the valve clean of carbon buildup? And based on your previous work in other vehicles utilizing the same D4S technology, have you seen any issues going forward say 50,000 or 100,000 mi?

    Are you guys sure the fluttering isn't a misfire caused by the bad Crank sensors? My truck has done it since day one, noticeable at low Rpm and makes the truck feel like you're going down a bumpy road. I've been accelerating onto the highway and it act up, felt like I was on a kicking horse. I've been at idle and had the tach start dancing from misfires too. It must be throwing the timing all over the place because it settles down on Premium 93. Remember there's at least 32k known trucks involved in the recall.

    @OVTune
    Another question do you think we would see any torque gains from a longer intake runner on this engine?

    I know it works well to build low end power in a conventional V8 if you lengthen the intake runners. You have more experience with these newer engines and their behavior to physical modifications like this. Most of my experience in tuning is with mechanical fuel injection on drag cars and injection pump mods on diesels.

    @OVTune This is a really great question that has not been brought up yet (I've been following since your first post and purchased the tune) and before it was asked I never considered this. I assume it's a separate system function not tied to the mapping the tune edits but confirmation the self cleaning feature still will operate would great.

    OP this is the first vehicle I have owned where the ECU has to learn how I drive. This truck is a play truck (Love it), I bought it June 2016 it has about 1500 miles on it. When I do drive it I drive it like all the other trucks I've owned in my 65 yrs. I also own a 2014 Ford Explorer 4x4 that is also a 3.5, V6, I drive it hard/fast the performance is 100% better then the Tacoma. So my question is, with as little as I drive this truck, I don't think it has learned how I drive yet or will it ever be able too, in fact I think the wife has driven it more then I have. So I guess I'm asking will this tuner be worth buying or will this truck/ECU be trying to learn how I drive for as long as I own it or can still drive it. (I am a retired disabled combat veteran with a terminal illness so it may need more learning time then I have no sympathy implied ) I just don't understand how or why it has to learn how I drive. Is there a way to permanently change it so the hp/torque, transmission improvements, and driveability improvements are always there or I'm I not getting how this ECU works. Thanks, any impute is welcome.

    it.

    I did buy the tune, and plan to install it. However, with the complexity of how the ecu functions hearing that the self cleaning feature was not inadvertently over written, because it happens during one of those many maps, would be comforting to hear.

    just waiting on my dev, :( he's not always around on weekends

    it's still working as OEM. I can control it, I don't adjust it.

    All injection control is still stock

    it is possible yes to just set it to run on a single mode only. But then you lose the ECUs ability to trim ignition, it can end up in disaster if low octane ever made it's way into the tank. So while it's possible, it's not something I plan to offer sorry.

    I drove a 2015 Tacoma for the first time yesterday and I can't believe how responsive it is compared to my 2017.
    It almost seems instant in the 2015 since I'm so used to mine.

    Does this tune make it more like the 2015 4.0 V6?

    Verdict is in. Compared to running the stock tune pulling and the Alpha tune the difference felt negliable. I could feel a little more torque once i got rolling but from a stop it felt the same as stock. I am a 6 M/T so from a stop i roll into the clutch at the lowest part of the powerband, from what I heard is not tuned power wise. Once I get past 3000 rpm it pulls good for what it is. Id love to see some more power lower in the band. Also just installed a short ram intake. My Long term fuel trims are 10.9 with the extra Mass air flow so once @OVTune gets the datalogging going hopefully he can tune me closer to 0 ltft. Cant wait for the new revised tune.....

    more dongles will be here monday, they just keep rolling in day by day so as soon as possible.

    thank you for the comparison. you are right that the very low end RPM does not have much adjustment, it is quite difficult to accurately tune RPM that low on a dyno. But the camshaft timing changes that will roll out soon I expect to make a notable difference from 2500 RPM and below.

    That'll be great and helpful for us who tow! Itll also be nice to be tuned for my intake. Mass air flow has substantially increased over stock.

    @OVTune

    Do you think we could see any more gains in low end torque from a larger bore throttle body and longer intake runners in conjunction with your tune?

    Probably not. The engine acts very similar to the FSE. I did a lot of airflow testing on that. Ultimately it was never a breathing in problem, but a breathing out problem. Stock Toyota vehicles exhaust systems are literally choked. Even the tacomas

    Our second stage camshaft adjustments and aftermarket exhaust will be the most beneficial in my opinion.

    In my experience as evidenced by OBD data, the flutters are misfires. After replacing my CKP I don't ever really "feel" the same stumble feeling anymore but I do record a misfire or two most trips still for what it's worth..

    Depending on the nature of the questions may I suggest a poll or some other way to collect the responses in an efficient manner? Responses in a thread take a lot of manpower to parse and can result in some data being overlooked.

    A well thought out questionnaire would allow you to gather meaningful data and organize it so that can be the most useful to you.
