Lol! I know right? Lets hope this “third gen tacoma” lives up to that reputation though. Im sure the epa regulations is probably why this generation tacoma is such a mess and possibly rushed.

Not sure why you would say EPA was the problem. Matt is getting better mpg AND meeting emissions. Rushed? Possibly, but that is a problem even Toyota on other models seem to have been able to navigate.

Fair enough. Not the main problem but they definitely played a role. Why else put this crappy engine with a crappy transmission? They waned better MPG and better emissions. Why is it so crappy? They were lazy or were rushed. No other explanation.

 

Or they did not want to spend more $ on r&d on a new motor/trans... it’s no coincidence Toyota recycles many parts between different gens, vehicles to save $

I am stuck. Flash Manager 1.0 For those that still have dongles what version of flash manager are you using and where can I download it? It appears only 1.03 calibration is available too.
When I download the calibration file it is 0kb. I saw a few others a ways back with this issue. @Jmsgolo @necrodiety

Just installed tune. Super easy, no problems at all. Took about 5 min. Don't know if I needed to. But I'm letting it idle for 20min, just bc I read a lot of people doing it. Can't wait to test drive it

 

87 or 91 tune? Either way, you'e gonna smile. It's like you're not fighting the truck all the time to get going.

 

87, will try 91 eventually. 10min test drive felt nice, too early for all my thoughts, but I think I'm going to like it a lot

Yeah the idle learning duration has been getting longer and longer as compared to Mat's original recommendation lol. I think it started off at like 5 min

is it possible you could screw up factory tune trying to install this tune and have a dead taco,,, has it happened to anyone yet.. tks
