The flash manager? I don't see an option for it? After selecting 2016+ it only loads the 1.03

 

Stuck on this 0kb issue as well... did matt get you a solution?

Quick question for those that have 1.04.

Is there a huge difference from a dead stop on acceleration? Currently that is my biggest gripe with this engine. From a dead stop if I put the pedal to the floor it takes off slowly until it hits around 3500 RPMs and then it gets moving pretty good. I can't stand that, I want to be able to put the pedal to the floor and theoretically break the tires loose if I felt like it.

 

My 2018 auto feels slightly more responsive off the line with the 1.04 91 tune.

 

Even with tuning it's proven to be difficult to get this engine to respond like a torquey motor sub 2000 RPM. A few factors at play and one of them is the torque converter.

 

Try ECT on, Traction Control off, and don’t stomp it but quickly push the pedal down in a fluid motion. You might not break the tires loose but that gets it moving good off the line. (At least for me)

 

After tuning mine no longer feels like there is a huge boost/surge of power at 3500 rpm just kinda ramps up power as rpms increase, which imo is a major improvement over stock and makes shifting my MT much easier and smoother.

 

For me, the truck performs very well off the line. I'm not WOT from a stop often... even when merging into 75mph traffic a fluid motion with the skinny pedal gets me moving just fine. 95% of driving I literally couldn't ask for better performance. The 5% surfaces under load in 4th and occasionally with how the torque converter can engage harshly in some conditions which seems to be on the radar for 1.05.

No issues with off the line stuff or even WOT on the highway to pass or something I don't get that harsh stuff people have mentioned.

considering the stock tune I was about 40% happy with I'd say we're in good shape

Received my tune file from Mat yesterday and flashed the truck this morning with the v1.04 87 octane tune. Zero issues. Start the utility, choose the flash file, flash it. Easy-peasy! Mat even included a stock tune file for me in case I need or want to revert to factory. I'm really interested to see how it drives today, and I'm doing a camping road trip to New Mexico this weekend. Good opportunity to burn it in!

 

HELP: I just installed the registry file, but when I run p5flash.exe and press "identify" it just closes out automatically. Thoughts? Windows defender is disabled, but I have AVAST.

it's the formula that based on certain values determines the converter's behavior.

 

Okay, I'm gonna temporarily uninstall antivirus for the time being. Is there anything else I can do to make sure other programs aren't real time monitoring?

 

double check windows defender's realtime monitoring as well. i can't remember if you can add an exception but i just turn it off and then run the flash tool and it works fine.

 

Open task manager and see whats running , disconnect from wifi if you have not already .

 

why disco from wifi? not really related to the either app ovtune uses.
