It is not recommended to buy the Tactrix from anywhere other than their site. With a bad interface you can harm your ECU... That's not to say there aren't potentially safe options out there that are knock-offs or clones (this IDK) but it is a chance you're taking when hooking something up to your ECU if it doesn't come from the proper source FWIW

??? for those who say they have had a surge - there is a newly released T-SB-058.18 for V6 auto trans for certain VIN vehicles (surge between 40-50 MPH). Not sure about it, but it looks like a ECU reflash to correct. ??? @OVTune Mat this may give you some insight into the issue. Hopefully you are ahead of the game on this too.

For those in Denver you don't need to buy the OBDII Tactrix - Just PM me and I will help you out. No way of telling where some in need are if they don't update their info to at least show home.

Same here, anyone in Mesa AZ area, you can borrow my Tactrix (I have the one from Tactrix). I am still waiting for my second email however, so I can load this damn thing on my truck, been waiting since 7/6.

Stock tune Leaving work today. Cold truck, ac on. I move the steering wheel and the truck surges rpm. I almost rearended the car Infront of me

Does the OV tune fix this B.S. from Toyota?

Why the hell didnt they just make the idle go up when the ac is on like every thing else in the world?!

    Sorry for the rant.

    Back to my question

Does the OV tune fix this B.S. from Toyota?

No they make it go up and down, spike. Which lurches the truck forward.

Even my 1985 carbureted 22r pickup doesn't do this BS. you turn on the a/c, it turns the idle up and keeps it up.

The surge the taco does is dangerous.

I coast down my driveway and make a 90 degree turn every time I leave my house. I’ve never had a surge and I’ve never felt that the truck or the tune is dangerous.

In a study that surveyed long-term ownership, 9 out of the 10 longest held cars by 1 owner ( 15 years) were all Toyotas including the Tacoma and Tundra.

Turbo charged cars aren't going to 200K or 300K miles at least not on average. Toyota will go to electronic assisted V6 before they put a turbo on the Tacoma.

The 3.5 v6 is already mated to an advanced hybrid system in the LC500h. The hybrid v6 system has 354hp.

the 2019 Rav4 is debuting with its fastest 0-60 ever with the new I4 hybrid system.

Toyota will put the 3.5 v6 Turbo in their Lexus lines, which they already have in the new GS, but they will never put a Turbo in the 4Runner, Landcrusier, Tacoma or Tundra. It's simply not part of their design philosophy.

So explain the Turbo 4s in the pickups of 1986-87...? Sure they went away but still they were made and are pretty sought after now considering the 3VZE was a total shitshow of an engine.

Those came out long before the Tacoma and the Tundra.

Turbo charged diesels have been in every 4x4 in Toyota's lineup outside of North America since the mid 80's. You can't say turbos aren't part of Toyota's design philosophy.
