Damn! Sounds like it. Not good cause I hate driving on the stock tune and, like most everyone else that has taken the plunge, am accustomed to driving this truck with actual power. I still have the old stock files though. Perhaps I can flash back to the them and then reflash back to 1.04. @OVTune is that a possibility?

When the tunes are released are they automatically pushed to those who already purchased the tunes via the programs you provided previously?

I think the update Toyota did is “deeper” than simply a tune file. Much like if you were on an older version of the ECU Mat had folks get the update from Toyota before the tune. I don’t pretend to understand all the layers but seems the old version of the tune would now be incompatible with your ECU due to the pervasive level of updates

Well that sucks. Thanks for letting me know though. Perhaps you’ll be done before this Thursday. I’ll be on vacation after then through July 26th and the truck will be parked during that time.

Yeah I believe that you’re right. Like when you update a PC from an older version and once you click “OK” you can’t go back.

Kind of makes me wonder if the new flash from Toyota was made to stop the Ovtune from being usable . The reason I say this is because of the report of it being put on the @dingel5 truck without asking him , or him saying there was a problem .
We will have to see what Matt finds out .

Interesting theory.....but I would think the OVTune community, when put into the context of the number of Tacos sold in general, is pretty miniscule. I don't think Toyota would purposely target tuners. But, who knows, you could be onto something!

STOP STOP STOP STOP.. FULL STOP.

Please don't start with the conspiracy theories. Mat just has to pick this update apart and deal with the changes.

Toyota already knows about OVtune, and besides.. how does it really hurt them?

Anyway.. no offense bud but please wait out.

I think a lot of it depends on your location and the speed you are driving. I drive a LOT of highway miles at 65+ and my 2016 auto was going nuts trying to make the truck maintain speed (thats why I traded off on a MT). If I never went over 60, I didnt have any complaints about the auto. Well unless you were in the mountains.

No conspiracies please. Toyota releases updates all the time. Just like Microsoft or Apple do. It’s a normal practice. Luckily we have @OVTune on our side to correct Toyota’s “fixes”.

As far as the update goes, the learning in the truck is okay. I can see a difference from how the original stock tune was compared to the update in that the shifting is getting somewhat better over time. I only have about 200 miles on it so far. The engine mapping still sucks though. 1.05 can’t come soon enough!

Is good to know Toyota continues to update and refine their tune, 04B04 from 04B03. But disappointing that the sluggishness persists. Glad we have OVTune to remedy these horrible behaviors.

My truck runs great stock, however I want it be awesome, doesn't look its gonna be this week. Thought all they needed was my id, replied with the rest of the information within seconds at around 10.30 last night and still waiting for my files. Its going to be 90 degrees here and over 100 in my garage. I not good at waiting, been up since 6.35 waiting. Doesn't matter now, its 80 already and I have to leave for an appointment. I tell customers all the time that when they buy from and theres an issue you can come to my office and I will handle their issue, when you buy on line you dont know where your money goes and no supprot when you need it! Just saying this is how i am feeling right now.

Hopefully after I finally get this tune installed I need any further support or customer service. I was actually ready last Thursday to install and couldn't get it done.
I don't post a lot on this forum or any for that matter but i look at it almost every day. This program sounds great but the experience I am having is not pleasant to say the least, have had other issues trying to buy LEDs from a guy on the forum. Maybe i just don't know how to do it right, i dont know. Doubt I will buy again on this forum!

We send out updates as quickly as we can, but at the current moment expect +1 day. I don't recommend anyone sits around at their computers waiting.

I will let everyone know when we are back to our normal schedule and normal process (including full kits not just software only). Transitioning from asia for 2 months to east coast is a daunting task. I expect to be back at full capacity soon.

Also no you can't go backwards from 04B04 to 03.

OVTune is a one man show. He usually has fairly good turn around but it's rarely been less than 12 hours let alone 24. Give him few days to get it lined out.
