The one thing I notice is that it holds 5th gear longer when downshifting from 6th on acceleration as opposed to jumping directly to 4th gear. Torque converter update possibly. It also doesn’t jump from 4th to 6th when up shifting as it did on the original stock tune. That’s what I note so far. Only about 200 miles on the update so I’m sure it’s still “learning”. Honestly, it brings back all the reasons why I purchased the OVTune in the first place. The engine power is gone again now and the idle has peaks and valleys when in park that weren’t there before I installed the OVTune. I really appreciate all the work Mat has put into his tune and want it back. Seriously y’all, don’t get the update until 1.05 is released or Mat instructs you to do so. Otherwise, do it so you can really appreciate how good we have it with the OVTune.

Just trying to wrap my head around this. So when we update to 1.05 our ECU code will automatically update to 04B04? We wont have to go to the dealer before flashing 1.05?

Oh and I should also add that ECT power mode is once again nonexistent or barely discernible if it does actually exist.

Or you could just wait for OVT to update the upcoming tune with anything good from the TSB and save yourself the hassle of going to the dealership

Doesn't seem like you should be worried. I think that's what they did to @dingel5 without even asking him. It just overwrites the tune. In which case you would have to wait for Mat to come out with 1.05 because 1.04 is for the 04b03 ECU....is my understanding

Tell your service manager to not apply any TSBs without checking with you first. Then if/when they offer this one, decline it.

I ended up flashing to the stock tune prior to having the truck serviced because I was having tests done and didn’t want to have a warranty issue.

Where can I find the stock flash? Mat only gave me the 1.04 tune. Was I supposed to extract the original ECU file or something?

Are you dongled or dongleless? When I first got the tune, I had to read the stock files in pcm flash and email them to OVTune prior getting the 1.02 files. After that, when OVTune release 1.03 Toyota Flash Manager had the original files.

@OVTune would you recommend us having the dealership service department update to 04B04 if we have the opportunity to do so? If we do have them update to 04B04, do we have to resend you the output from either the TCM or ECM again?

If your truck is part of the TSB go ahead and get it done if you want. I have the files so I won't need them again

Just a thought. Matt said you can’t go backwards. If you don’t get the Dealer to flash your ECU and put the T-SB OEM sticker under the hood and they some day ( under warranty work ) find your ECU reads 04B04 from Matt’s advanced flash what’s going to happen? Matt said you can’t go back from his 04 to his 03, right?
