Read your linked post. ???? odd issue. Hope it is not related to our Tune and is not fatal, Tune related or OEM. Glad you caught this and put it on the radar.

I like the exhaust it is loud but every car a drive is loud, so I am use to it. I put the tune the CAI and exhaust on at the same time and I am happy with the power.

I would guarantee it has zero to do w/ the tune which is why I created a separate thread for it. Suspect it's something electrical TBH - only linked it here b/c most folks don't even have any insight into their ECU or monitor behavior aside from folks in this thread of course :)

Replacing exhaust doesn't normally result in gaining power that you can feel. Most of the time it's minimal unless you are talking about an entire exhaust setup not just catback.

A FULL exhaust could really help this truck im sure? Have you seen the headers on this truck? This truck looks really choked up A61551E3-C4E6-496F-BC36-416016212105.jpg

I thought URD has a full exhaust kit for this already? Including eliminating the cat's?

It is possible it might be the high pressure fuel pump causing the truck to be difficult to start up randomly. Same issue on the LC500 where if the engine is hot it takes 3x longer to crank up. Twice now actually the car has cranked cold for more than 5 seconds and got a cel for cold start performance.
There is a recall on the pumps and it seems to be an issue with these lexuses for years. I will have to check but I believe the truck uses the same pump

Edit** it may also be a bad ECU. A few people (not a tuning issue) have found out their trucks ECUs were faulty and had to have them replaced

It does, and my pump has been replaced under the active TSB (which was for the chirping / slipping belt sound) it caused. Pump is quiet now though. Whatever it is it definitely resets the ECU and doesn't happen often though.

Yeah, without something more severe happening I don't think I'll get a dealerships time to diagnose until something more severe happens with it which it sounds like is likely down the line. If you have any ideas around how I could self diagnose the ECU health I'm all ears (via PM)

Didn't mean to hijack your thread though!

NOTE: My ECU resetting itself has absolutely ZERO to do with the tune. I only posted up here to pull knowledge from likeminded folks who are at least familiar with your ECU :)

    Tune rocks!

URD makes these power pipes or whatever hell they call it that eliminates the catalytic converter. The manifold stays. I have not found real headers for this truck but I haven't looked very hard

Did your ECU reset before the tune?

    It IS NOT the tune.

I checked my stats today and posted the results in @bshammer0 's thread. Distance traveled since last DTC reset matches my trip ODO distance since flashing 1.04A 91 file.

    Edit: Here you go -

I've had the TSB for the chirping fuel pump done as well and now that I think back the two times that my ECU has reset itself has been after getting that TSB done.

Mine did it several times before the fuel pump was replaced and has done it 2x since so probably not a correlation in my case anyhow.

Just so no one inadvertently makes a connection between this problem and the tune, you stated in the other thread that your truck did this (ECU resetting intermittently) before you tuned it - correct?

Things can get out of hand pretty quickly on here..

This has happened to be before I was tuned - it is NOT a tune issue. Not a tune issue. The tune is wonderful and is the ONLY reason I still drive a 3rd gen tacoma. Period. #tunedforlife

This is the reason why I had hesitated to even post up about it b/c of concerns people would read too much into that aspect but after it happened again yesterday I figured it was time to at least see if anyone else had experienced this.
