Just picked up a brand new 2018 Tacoma DCSB TRD sport. I've been reading through some of this thread so I'm planning on doing this tune down the road.

Question though. Does this tune void the factory warranty unless its re-flashed back to stock? I have an Audi and never tuned it because it voids the factory warranty once its tuned.

4.88s with 33s is overgeared. While acceleration is out of this world, the fuel mileage is ridiculous. Even when babies, my truck never exceeds 18.5 mpgs. If I did it over again, 4.30s all day possibly 4.56s. Unless you are running 35s 4.88s are too much!

Not true. I run stock 16's with 4.88 and OVTune 1.04 87 octane. Average 22.5 mpg city and better on highway when I keep it at 65. 20 mpg when towing. Pretty average for situation here a mile in elevation. Will admit mileage went down 2 mpg after 4.88's but they along with the Tune make the truck 100% better than stock.

I am officially part of the "tuned life"! Went for a little test drive! Noticed it ran and shifted way better than it used to with the SSP! Can't wait to drive to work tomorrow! So very well worth the wait and thanks to a fellow TW I was able to know what Matt needed to have and less than 24 hours I am tuned. I thought it would take at least an hour or more to complete. Minutes!

Go ahead buy one, we'll be here when you get back. You couldn't give me an f150, they are in the same class. Plus my truck looks way better than any ford f150. I've had a couple f150's and I have never had any problems with them. They are just too big for me.

I just picked up in the middle and I have been amazed by the way my truck drove tonight on a couple mile drive. Very happy with my truck, I wouldn't trade it for a raptor or anything else. I always wanted a unique Tacoma and now that I go it i love it more than ever. Only thing that would be better is my truck with a back seat.
Oh well its getting near perfect for me!

The F150 does drive incredibly well (I drove one a couple weeks ago)...but it's also too big for me and I don't care how it looks from most angles.

With that said, I'm intrigued by the new Ranger and the Ranger Raptor sounds like it could be amazing to drive just like it's bigger bro ("if" it comes to the US of course).

Then I look outside at my Tacoma and realize how silly I am. I wanted a reliable truck that looks awesome too. I love that Inferno of mine! :D

Yep. Did the gears first for towing - no need for bigger tires to tow. Added the Tune next. The combination of the two make the truck easy to drive with quick response at the pedal and better low end torque.

4.88s with 33s is in fact overgeared... you can't argue with math. The truck comes with 30.5s and 3.91 gears from the factory. If you put on 33s and a regear to 4.30s it would bring the gear ratio back as close to 3.91 as you could get. What you are referring to is a matter of opinion when you say Not True...

Addituonally, by running stock size tires you ARE overgeared. Because you no longer have a 3.91 final drive...

I think that the OR and the PRO autos both should have come with the same gears as the manual trucks, 4.30. F**k Toyota’s math.

Can't argue the math. Truck drove like shit with the stock OEM gears and 3.91 final drive. Truck now drives 100% better with 4.88's and OVTUNE.
