@Smokehouse what was your trap speed in the ¹/⁴? And do you know how much your truck weighs? Does it have armor, etc...
That's the real data point to discuss.

Iirc, the procharger dynoed 303hp on a mustang dyno.... im pissing in the wind, but was your trap speed in the low to mid 90s?

Auto and no wheel hop that i was aware of

    1. I did not lower it, I was only there for the last hour they were open as I didn't plan on coming so I had 0 prep time. What would you recommend I set them too? they are 265/17 cooper discovers
    2. I do not sadly do you have some that you recommend that would still be offroad capable?
    3. Definitely don't think i could get away with that haha first thing he did was make sure my A/C was off and that the bed was empty

Also i was (half)kidding about drag slicks, it would be cool but definitely not in the budget and I'm definitely not a serious drag racer I just figured I'd give it a shot since it was free but I'd love to go again and do better so keep the advice coming

Try the technique that Werty used, in the video posted by Memario.

I'll let SUMOTNK deal the rest.

1/4 drag racing at the track can be a lot of fun without the need to spend additional $. Bracket racing is all about consistency versus huge HP numbers. I'm also on the same page with trying to improve ET without dropping extra coin...

    1. Next time you go racing, try lowering the PSI in your rear Coopers. Start with ~10psi less than what you would typically run on the street. See if this helps reduce wheel hop.
    2. I was just wondering if you had offroad rear shocks with adjustable compression/rebound which is found on the higher end models of off the shelf Fox, Icon, Kings, ADS, etc..... If you did have that rear shock adjustability, I would suggest dialing them to the stiffest setting to try and reduce rear suspension squat. But since you don't.....not a big deal.

"Run what you've brung" without spending extra bread
    1. Weight reduction (strip out any excess/un-needed parts. eg. have the least amount of gasoline in your tank thats needed, remove passenger seat, remove spare tire, take a fat dump before heading to the track)
    2. Play with settings that you can mess with. In this case, it's mainly just rear tire pressure.
    3. Play with free mods. Try plumbing colder air to your air intake with NACA ducts or cheap dryer ducting
    4. Practice, practice, practice.... and look into the Werty method of launching/shifting. Since I'm a PreRunner, I can't help you there....

Lol! I was going to tag YOU for 1/4 tips and tricks! My glory days at the dragstrip were a long time ago.......long before DragWars, 1320, and everything #Mexico.

you had a better 60ft time in 2wd than you did in 4wd. I say needs practice to keep chopping down the time. Play around with that foot brake launch, as everyone else said...dropping your tire psi will allow you to be more aggressive.

And a gain of 15 mph between 1/8 and 1/4...she will respond nicely to other bolt ons.

Keep at it until you can get that 60ft down to atleast 2.2, looking closer to 2.0 and faster to be where you are expected. That's where you will see the driver mod make a difference

That missed 2nd like 3x? I feel like it should be faster than this. No idea what a stock Taco runs but a 16 is pretty slow. Was the traction control kicking in or something?

It should be faster at least low 14s if he could get traction.

You would need an HPtuner to pull the file. You should get one anyway so you can get a trans tune on there which would probably help immensely.

Did they give you the HPTuners RTD device? It would be a little module that plugs into your OBDII port. It looks similar to the MPVI2

If you have that, you can install the VCM Suite, and use the VCM Scanner in combination with your HPTuners RTD and datalog. Email me the datalog file and I can provide some insight as to how the tune/combination are working.
