So I went to the dealer the other day to throw my name in the hat. First I sat down and said I am here about info on the 2016 Tacoma. The guy says oh yeah I think they are coming out in February. I was like, no its in the next few weeks. Now I have never sold cars before but it seems like a pretty simple job to keep up on what's happening and what is new. New cars come out in the fall, if a car comes out in Feb they would probably call it a 2017 or 2016.5. Wouldn't you want to seem like you know what the hell you are talking about when a customer comes in? Maybe it's just me.
Anyway, after he checked and found out that they are coming in "soon" and that they had an allocation and people had already put money down to reserve them. I put a hold on a quad cab sport long bed in blue. When I got home I did some measuring and don't think I can get the long bed in my garage unless there is nothing else in there (and that never happens.) So I guess I am going back to see what else they have coming in. Build date is 9/12 by the way and I got nothing clear on delivery seemed like 3-4 weeks sounded good to them. Anyway they gave me the book with all the fancy pictures and what not. In the back where it compares models, it shows a lot less stuff on the OR than on the Sport. Like the charger thing and the pushbutton start. Then it says the OR has the Nav app. I thought I saw a link on here where it compared models and the only real difference between sport and OR is the rear bumper, over fenders, suspension tuning, crawl and hood scoop. I am torn between the sport and the OR depending on how they each drive... It will be short bed for me though, that I can say for sure...

The differences are in the packages you select - not seeing the brochure it's hard to decipher for you.

A few weeks ago, I was looking at the new 2015 Mustang at a local Ford dealer. And one salesman comes up to me and was like, "Whatcha looking' at?" And I was like, "The new Mustang." And then he was like, "It's nice isn't it?" And then I was like "Yeah, I like how they gave it independent rear suspension." Then he looked at me like I was a 5-square Rubix Cube. Then I was like, "I gotta go now." .... SMH, salesmen know nothing about cars.

With all of the "I was like" and "he was like", this post reminded me of the 80's film Valley Girl. Should have thrown in a good ol' "and I was all" as well as "and he was all".

The tfltruck link to the Tacoma spec PDFs, shows trd off-road coming standard with push button start, and bed outlet. Furthermore, I believe the video reviews showed the same.

    Two things:

I have a 2006 Mustang, and my own opinion is that these new ones look like a**. Just my feelings.

This sounds like the guy at a dealership that I called yesterday. He is supposed to be their "truck specialist." When I told him I was interested in a Limited 2016 Tacoma, he asked me "double cab or access cab?" I realized right there that he knew nothing at all about the new trucks.

When ever I go to a car lot I always ask the sales guy a question I know the answer to first.
Went on a Toyota lot a month ago and was looking at a supped up Taco. It was lifted and I' staring at a Toytec logo. I look at the guy and ask if it is a new suspension. He said no.
    Dumb shit.

He proceeded to tell me it was a Sport they modded to be a TRD Pro. I asked why it was $10k over a TRD Pro then and jokingly asked if it had a supercharger. He said "oh no! We can't put one of those in it would void every single warranty".

I repectfully asked to be left alone at that point.

I would agree most salesmen/women are totally clueless. I went to my Toyota dealership over the weekend and ask them if they had the 2016 Tacoma brochure. First he said.."no we do not have the 2016 Tacoma brochure but I have the 2016 Corolla brochure" That is not what I ask you. Then he goes on to say the 2016 tacoma's will not be stock until January 2016, and there are no major design changes from the 2015 tacoma's . So I said OK and turned around dot into my truck and left. Totall Clueless

Yeah if a salesman assumes you are stupid, you should assume he is not getting your # from a sale. Good job. A good salesman would assume an interested customer is already privy to the info on the 2016.
