For your morning enjoyment. Was quite slippery/muddy grass. A dually F350 with mudders and a larger toy hauler, and a RAM 2500 hauling a smaller toy hauler also struggled. The zig-zag lines seen are from the dually, while the ones to the left were us. Started out stuck in a rut so I pulled him at an angle with a bungee rescue rope.

Did the F150 have a load leveling hitch?

If not, do you think it would have helped them with traction or were they just a silly 2wd?

    Check your tranny fluid color.

It's probably cooked after those shenanigans.

I'm running a manual transmission, it wasn't actually that difficult to pull. I just had it in 4wd Low, 1st gear. I didn't even turn off all the fancy traction control gizmos. I was just running the stock all seasons as well, Wranglers.

The F150 had pretty bald all seasons which didn't help, but it was in 4wd. Honestly he would have been stuck even with mudders given that dually had a rough go. I think it was just a standard hitch but don't recall.

That looks pretty darn soaked, anything with a large load on the hitch is gonna need a tug or two. Nice work helping em out!

The fella with the F350 should still be hanging his head in shame...as he registers for an offroad driving course.

No way a 4WD Super Duty with MT tires should have struggled there.

The diesel engines, combined with everything else adds nearly 1000 lbs to the trucks weight. Pretty much all diesel engine trucks struggle in mud since they are so heavy.

In 1976 I pulled my uncle's unloaded 18 wheeler out of a muddy spot using this 1968 IH Scout. The scout had a big block 392 ci engine with really low gearing.

In 2016 I pulled a diesel F250 and a loaded stock trailer up a hill in Utah. Two cowboys had been rounding up cattle on public land. Their truck wouldn't shift into 4X4 for whatever reason and they couldn't get enough traction to pull the trailer up a steep gravel road. They took their horse and mule out to reduce weight, but left the cattle in the trailer. I'm guessing 20,000 lbs or more here with truck, trailer, and livestock.

    Getting to the top.

My wife got to ride the mule up the hill
