I'm curious as to how you guys rate the ride quality of your tacomas. My 99 silverado drove like a dream (Nice and smooth). My 2007 Wrangler not so much: It's loud, and harsh over bumps... It's squirrelly on the freeway, and gets blown around in the breeze.

My next truck will be a daily driver, with a one-way commute lasting about 1.5 hours.

Wranglers have solid front and rear axles which make for a harsh ride. But they are not really built for a smooth ride. I just bought a new Taco and got out of my 06 dodge ram. The rams ride was ok, but my tacoma with the bilsteins rides soo much better. I have heard some people on here complain about the ride of the tacoma, but I think it feels tight and controlled. Driving over rough roads the bilsteins valving works great and you get much less rear wheel hop than most truck I have driven.

I had a 99 Silverado before my Tacoma. I would say the ride quality is about the same. My Silverado was an ext. cab long bed (8ft) which I think made it ride even nicer but overall the only real difference was the inside of the Silverado was much bigger. You sit higher off the ground (seats sit higher in the cab not truck sits higher). I think my truck is the most comfortable vehical to travel in. I would rate it a 9 out of 10. If the inside was a little bit bigger it would be a ten. But for a truck its smooth and very well composed on the road!

I'm looking at the TRD Sport package, hoping that'll give me a better on-road ride (Although some threads I have read say there is no real difference between Sport and Offroad models).

Have the 09 TRD Sport double cab and love it. Very pleased with the stock ride. Very comfortable for both short and long drives.

If possible, take some out for test drives. Compare different models and see what you like better.

Lol... well, it's either going to be the Tacoma or a ridgeline (and maybe a silverado... we'll see)

    Best of luck man.
I'm very pleased with my Tacoma and have zero regrets buying this truck. I'm keeping this until the engine dies.

Thanks.. I'll need it. I tend to over-research products, so I'll be at this for a while.

I'm leaning more towards the toyota, but the honda has its benefits too (not the styling). I'm sure, either way, I'll be content. (anything would be better than this jeep of mine)

Well its a big purchase so research is a great thing.

I never tried the Honda. Not really my style or for my needs but I'm sure its a great vehicle
