To me the buckets are luxury compared to that awful bench seat I used to have! Good back support and overall comfort.

i like my off road seats. have made 400 mile trip to the beach no problem. but did not even hurt. also have made a 650 mile trip(about 11.5 hours other than one stop) still know but hurting.

i hate the seats in my brother ’09 silverado.

2001 SR5 (fabric) seats are okay. They are built for people under 6 foot, 200lbs probably (Japanese individuals), haha so I think they are little small. The height of the back of short. I routinely drive from Texas to Ohio and about half way through (24 hour trip) they get pretty uncomfortable. Driving position with a manual is good though. I might switch them out. If there is anything better let me know.

I've driven an 83 bonneville with suede bench seats, 89 grand marquis with suede bench seats, 95 chrysler cirrus with leather buckets (bland), an 04 mazda6 with leather buckets (were good but deteriorated). My wife and I also have a '10 Rav4 with sport fabric (kind of bland with no support), and an '04 Corolla S with fabric seats (bland). Of all of these vehicles, my 11 Tacoma sport buckets are the best, most supportive seats I've ever had in a vehicle. I only weigh 170 lbs, and I'm in very good shape...so the way clothes fit me or the way my body feels in a seat or chair very much matters to me, and these seats are far superior to anything else I've been in.

My '12 Sport seats are amazing compared to the '08 4Runner Sport I just sold. It took me about 4 months in the 4Runner to stop having back pain (my body adapted I guess). Plus the 4runner seats making a pop/cracking sound ALL THE TIME...so annoying!!! This is my 3rd Tacoma sport model and I just love these seats. I'm 6'4 225 and I recommend.

What are the thoughts on raising the back of the seats, a few washers under the back bolts? I'm having back problems and think the angle is the issue...

Thread necro time! Because why not, these threads never lose their relevance.

I've been driving a WRX STI for the last 3 years and can definitely say that the sport seats are a huge step up from just a hard bolstered seat. I still like the bolstered feel, and in fact they hug me in almost the same way that the STI seats did. I can already tell there's much more padding and they just feel softer in general than my STI.

I still have the car, so when I swap back and forth it's a pretty obvious reminder how uncomfortable hard seats can be. After about 3 hours of driving I get anxious to get out of the seats of the STI and the Tacoma wasn't nearly as bad.

    Not enough...
I just got rid of my 3rd BMW and got a Tacoma. All 3 beemers had leather heated sport seats (their non-sport seats are pretty awful). Have to say that Taco sport seats are a definite step backwards, but not too bad. I felt the protruding metal piece at the bottom of the seat back at first, but then realized that the lumbar support adjustment fixes that... a little.

I am more concerned with fabric and my back being drenched in sweat after sitting in traffic for an hour yesterday. Going to stop at a Katzkin dealer today and see what they have to offer.

Has anyone swapped 4 runner seats into a taco? Theyre power and everything, look a lot nicer than taco seats, just not sure if they bolt right up? Anyone know?

My seats are pretty comfy. The longest stretch I've done is 1.5 hours when i drove it home from purchase. I'm going to Idaho is 2 weeks which will be about 3.5 hours of straight driving so we shall see how they do.

I have plans next spring to drive over and up to Seattle then down PCH to San Diego then home. Lot's of seat time.

I'm pretty happy with my seats (TRD Sport). Longest drive has been about 3 1/2 hours. What bothers me is how low the armrest is on the door. Wish it was 3" higher. If (and only if) the window's all the way down I rest my are on top of the door and I find that to be comfortable.

:( Really not impressed with seats after owning truck 6 months. I own 2 other vehicles that I would definitely say have better seat comfort & use them when plans call for longer ride. Going to look into change in near future. Mainly use truck for local trips to Home Depot/Lowes/ garden centers which is main reason I bought it.

I test drove a 2009 TRD sport for around 20 minutes and I have to say the head rest was very annoying because it is angled down and the seat's adjustment was very unhelpful. There was also very little leg room in the quad cab.

    I hate em.
so I put in BMW sport seats with full adjustments for everything...I can drive forever now. For what its worth our 2011 Sequoia Platinum had hideous seats on anything more than a 100 mile trip. Wish we had test drove it longer....wife got rid of it because it was terribly uncomfortable for long trips.

People who are saying their Tacoma seats are the most comfortable they have ever sat in are completely bonkers.
