I searched other forum posts on this and it seems there isn't one consensus. I have an 07, 6spd TRD sport and lately it shakes badly under acceleration but goes away completely if i depress the clutch. It coasts smoothly but has a large tremor only under acceleration.

Another thing i get occasionally is a loud clicking coming from the rear, also only under acceleration at lower speeds. It sounds like when you put a playing card in your bike spokes as a kid. This is occasional, the tremor is every time.

I have greased the U joints a few times but haven't done it for about 20,000 since I've been traveling a lot. Could this just be a worn out U joint? **fingers crossed**

its shaking because its saw my F350, LOL

Clicking sounds like a bad u joint. Mine did that before it went so bad the truck vibrated like a Hitachi Magic Wand.

Go replace them. Harbor Freight tool makes it easy to do or rent it from parts store.

Do you think the carrier bearing would be worn out if the U joint has been for a while?

U Joint more than likely. Get them all ( 3 ) replaced. if one is bad they are all likely worn and due to go soon as well.

I had the same problem, more then likely a u-joint. Replaced all three and the shaking stopped.

I may add this to my maintenance refresh this summer as well. I have very intermittent, and light vibes from the drive train at 86k miles. Lesson learned - grease the u-joints every oil change. $100 for a set of wearable parts every 100,000 miles. Possibly the carrier bearing as well since once everything is off.

Something happened and @Batman413 suddenly didn't have any power.. Lol u-joints fail, sometimes spectacularly sometimes unexpected.

But that'll likely introduce more vibes into the cab.
