There's also the potential to use these on another member's first gen with alcans currently.

I'll let him expand on that if he wants.

I will expand on that. Have Wheeler's 5 pack plus the AAL currently. Also with 2" lift shackles. Looking for 3" more lift out of the pack, as I want to drop down to 1" lift shackles. I don't know if these Scout springs are the right solution for me, as my real problem is weight. Think I might need thicker leaves. When I pull everything out of the bed (topper about 120 lbs, toolbox 150lbs, and other various crap) my leaves look a lot happier and I get closer to the lift I want. Also have a heavy plate rear bumper with a swing out.

Here's what my leaves look like now, a little wave going on and some separation from the AAL:

My first thought is to just swipe the bottom three leaves from the scout springs and add them as-is to the top two of the tacoma springs and ditch the overload.
I'd measure to be certain, but length looks right to me.

Very nice.... I like what you've done here, biggest issue with 1st gen flips is shock mount location & method....:thumbsup:

You've got some nicely ARC'd donors there & thinner leafs like a jeep which will result in a lift with mild increase in load rate...

You are on target with statement & yeah if carrying more weight you def. want to go with thicker leafs. (chevy/ford truck springs/linear non progressive)

Well we threw a couple together.....
Going to see what they do on the truck before I spend any time cleaning and painting them.

I'll be honest all i heard is the install looks great. But what do you mean about the shackles? That i don't want any more angle? If so i agree.

Cleaning and painting are the easy part. I always have everything possible painted before swapping leafs.

With the increased ARC theres a new paradyme of vertical radius meaning as you go up the vertical radius increases pushing back wards on the shackle reducing the shackles movement when the springs compress (they get slightly longer when compressing )

& no you don't want an extended shackle (unless you want more lift than springs provide) An adjustable shackle would be perfect, but the thing is I know they're out there but I've never seen an aftermarket adjustable shackle (with the exception of some LT'd SUA)

The closer to 90 degrees shackle position the better for sure...

Well we didn't accomplish a whole lot.

I had a 2" aal in there before and I had about a 3/4" taco lean going on.

I seem to have lost about 1/2" on the passenger side and gained about a 1/4" on the driver side.

Our very scientific method of testing the load capacity consisted of standing on the bumper and that wasn't real promising either. It resulted in an inch or better of sag.

So basically, I fixed the taco lean and got a blood blister on my pinky.

I'm toying with the idea of fitting the aal back in there somewhere.....

or maybe I should just find some different (thicker) donor leafs.

Does anyone know the width of Dodge springs? I found a set of Skyjacker D600S for a Dodge that says its 5-6". I'm not looking for myself but other members.

Aren't those a mother fucker ?? Hurt like hell & yeah think I mentioned the thcker leafs earlier, you used the scout/jeep leafs huh ? They're decieving real pretty ARC that goes away once installed too thin,

This is the type your shooting for donors....

    61" leafs off 1975 Chevy 3/4 ton

Someone posted up a pretty good PDF on diff. manufacturers spring specs. The few i have seen are slightly wider but workable with minor grinding around ubolt flips over maybe 2.3" wide ??

    EDIT: not 2& 3/8" more like 2 & 7/16"

If you send another I would not mind If I get 5 inches over stock I would not mind I can always work on the front if the rear gets too high. Actually i prefer that. Im 2wd so i can go as high as i want in the front. To be honest the camper shell is killing me in gettin the height i want. I could probably take it off and get plenty. To me the perfect rake is 2 inches higher in the rear,

Good for you, the further you get east the better it gets. at least thats what i tell myself.
