I'm very interested in the cut lengths!

I have no idea what length I should be cutting each leaf that I will be adding into the new toyota leaf pack from my frame replacement. I am going to try to keep only the first main toyota leaf or the first and second and add to them.

    Thanks for the info,
    Matt T.

Ok, back from dead, these dimensions are for 2nd gen only & for builing off the main spring (discarding all other springs)

In order from top to bottom spring:

    49"
    44"
    40"

& 35" if you want to squeeze a 4th spring in there

Thank you so much! When measuring, is that like tip to tip straight across or arching the tape measure with the leaf?

Do you have the measurements for a 1st gen as well? This thread has been a great wealth of info. Getting ready to look for a donor set for my 02.

^^ I'm also interested in the correct measurements. I have my eye on a set of set of Toyota 1-ton camper springs from a 89. I was wondering which springs to keep or just go to the scrap yard and pull some Chevy leaves

Broke one of my Chevy springs. Before that I broke my Deaver AAL from Toytec. Two of my friends, one has a broken AAL same as mine and another had multiple breaks on his Chevy springs. Funny all this shit talk about Toyota springs and I haven't had one or seen one break around here. Redoing my OMD mod with a set of 1st gen Tundra springs.

Hi matt, Always measure the full ARC of the spring tip to tip....

1st gens are a little different being eliptical in design, but I'll round up some numbers if you can't find them in thread, generally it depends if you strip the OEM pack down to the main & work off of it.... or if just adding to existing...

Tell'm bro' haha (j/K) for the record I myself have never broken a Toyota spring, they're too fuckin' soft to do anything but bend & sag....:p

Been a while since I browsed this thread. I was originally planning on building a standard chevy pack using my main leaf and developing it from donor leaves from a junkyard find. Being that I do eventually want to go mid-long travel I was wondering if it would be wise to go SUA from the start and develop the pack to do so.

Has anyone had any experience building this pack for a SUA LT application?

Or should I just go with my original plans for now since I won't be able to afford the get/build a bed cage for quite some time.

Look for an older Chevy 1 ton S-10 flatbed, (factory SUA) & go from there, IIRC the main on those are 61", personally I haven't built one but sure it CAN be done

I built my springs with the help of some donor '91 S-10 SUA leafs. I think you'd run into a few problems making a SUA tacoma pack. Main one would be to find a main leaf long enough for the application. Second would be getting enough arch. I've been very happy with my springs though. Way more arch and a much thinner pack compared to any first gen pack I've seen that gets as much lift as I have.

    Thanks guys!

Looks like I need to create a long ass shackle and move my front hanger to go SUA in the rear. Gonna stick with my original plan until I can afford to have more down time with the truck.

There is a def. difference between the standard S10 SUA & the commercial app. of the pack I used...
