No worries dude, you'll need to buy 2 new centerpins for the springs, they're pretty cheap $3 -$4 each...;)

I still gotta get pics of mine. This weekend I removed the wheelers aal and threw in 2 more ford leafs in, that make 3 ford and only the main toyota leaf left.

Nice! I just have to see how this new set up works offroad. My original setup acted funny in the desert, I think it was due to the aal.

    Look at build!
Add me to the list doug as well as trd7 I rebuilt his a long time ago and just got around to doing mine!

& holy crap, let me tell you, they ride soooo good compared to that shitty "aal" i had before with the same amount of lift... sittin at 39 1/2 in the rear and 38 1/4 in the front so just over an inch rear rake!

Ended up with a 5 leaf pack, 3 of my stock ones and 2 off a 2ooo dakota, similar in thickness maybe only 1/16 difference so they matched about perfectly, and some new center pics and i was golden! Now just gotta go in when the bumper is finished and add in a new cross member for shock mounts /\

Oh hell yeah, your going to love the offroad ride, the flexing is spot on & yet it will ramp up quick to take the high speed hits going down a sand wash...Props for pulling the trigger dude !!

    I'll make the changes...

Oh yea first place i went was a washboard road and it was like going from a tank to a caddy! Flex wasnt changed much, maybe an inch or so but im assuming my shocks were bottomed out as well so ill be adding a crossmemember to mount some shocks /\ and it should get better! Only issue i noticed is when flexed the leafs seemed to seperate apart from eachother sideways so i have to go in and make some retainer things or whatever you call them and i should be good to go

Ok, this may seem like a pain in the ass but if you chock your wheels, loosen your U bolts at least enough to remove bump stop re tighten center pin nut (after knocking your springs back into place) re torque U bolts & get some spring clamps, some guys haven't been getting them tight enough I suspect (not saying you didn't just re check)

Alright ill try that, i tightened them down with air tools then came back and did it by hand, like i said they only did that when flexed and went immediatly back into place. Ill probably just make some retainers to keep them in place after i try tighening the center bolt

Just go easy, remember just checking for tightness, those pins strip pretty easy...& yeah some kind of clamp will hold in place for sure...

This may be a stupid question, and sorry if its already answered, but whats the best donor spring to use and how would I figure out how much lift I'm gonna get? I'm looking for about 2" or so

Oh no, not stupid.. I've been having the best luck with Chevy springs over the Fords only because the Ford springs have a tendancy to be slightly wider & the Chevy's have been consistantly the same. Performance wise they're about the same & with the addition of 2 springs per side (regardless of chevy or ford).

I've been averaging 3" per lift, adding just one would yeild about 1.75" -2"

(the extra spring adding only an inch overall for a solid 3")
