    I do both, if the user wants a fair amount of lift with alot of added spring rate for capacity i build off the main leaf replacing the rest with chevy/ford springs, for mild lift with firmer suspension I stay with the existing leaf pack & add to it (assuming the stock leafs are still rebuildable)

    heres a pic of what i was looking for... if the main is actually "bent" in between the 2 blue marks (roughly first 10" from either eyelett) its basically scrap & I don't bother with it. Sags & droops are one thing, bends & breaks are quite another...

    I need some retainers too. My passenger side is pretty bad I noticed but I haven't been that urgent about it. Ill have to fab some up sometime.
