Nice.. I just found a bunch in your pictures too, but if you have a view like that with a 4 and 5 leaf Id like to see those also. And whats the length from the bottom of the stock spring pack to the first new leaf. The other ones you said are 3.75 but this area looks longer. Thanks again

    Doug,

The double springs on the Ford remind me of "Super Springs". As you mentioned, it is used for heavy towing/hauling without beating your brains out when everday driving. The "Super Springs" are a consideration for those who do occaisionally haul or tow.

Wonder if there are thinner leafs on sum'n. Then you can stack like 10 and it won't be too stiff but very useful.

Well , its kind of a mixed bag & I'm on the fence about the whole progressive spring config, a true progressive is symetrically cut leafs that taper from thick (center) to thin on the ends on each individual leaf, benefits : A great balance of ride on/offroad....

Downside: They won't last as long as a good conventional spring & they WILL bottom out when hitting shit aggressively, this is based on my experiences with my full sized Power Wagon which I had both types of after market springs on it, (1 set was a conventional setup , 7 leafs IIRC from Rough country & another set of custom built progressives from National Spring that had 10 or 11 leafs, they cost an arm & a leg & actually ride quality was about the same but the progressives showed fatigue much sooner than the conventional..

Of course theres a couple thousand lbs. difference between my Dodge & the Tacoma...
