I think the other ones are expeditions, yeah thats the ones I like pretty sure, those expo's are stiffer than shit !! Mike (05offroad) had some & I swear we could both jump up & down on the bumper & that fucker barely budged, I like firm but that shit was way to hard...

Hell, I'd get a set of these on my prerunner rc for better truck ride & load handling (not lift) if I was anywhere local to OP. Really nice work goin on there.

Thanks brother !! Yeah, not too bad for junk yard shit I guess...which is my material source for builds, a lot of diamonds in all that twisted metal just gotta know what to look for......;):)

Did you see the list ?? We nationwide now baby !!!:D

Actually I'm starting to do a little more shipping of kits I put together for members who want them. Member PT_LAW was the first, my guinea pig.. God bless his patience, things are alot smoother now tho'....:)

I can give upgrade with lift or without (well, almost, its minimal)

most lifts from my springs are right at 3" with slight settling

oddly tho' alot of guys have vibe issues with the usual AAL's in the 2"-2,5" lift range & mine with 3" of lift & although I'm prepared to drop the carrier in the event of a vibe developing after lift out of all the ones on list (& some not on list) I haven't had to drop a carrier yet, so maybe 3" is a magic number.....:notsure:

As far as shipping goes, a kit I sent back east weighed right about 40lbs & cost about $43.00 to ship to east coast so thats not too bad...

I hear ya on the junkyard diamonds. I drove an 82 Toyota truck for 27 yrs and 500k miles. My mod place for that was the junkyard. Toyota didn't make prerunners back then but I had one. They didn't make a convertible either but it was like that for 10 yrs before swapping cabs back to uncut, which came from a junkyard.

I'm only halfway to east coast on 3rd coast so shipping cost won't scare me off. No worries about carrier bearing for me since I has reg cab now. Won't be lifting this one any more than it already is. Had enough of that with the 05 ac, just dd prerunner anyway. Once I get past some projects going with the car and truck I'll definitely be lookin to do somethin about 3 leaf douchepack on this one. It isn't quite as bad as on the 05 but it is still annoying on regular basis.

So I went to the junk yard and got me some springs off of a early 80s blazer. They are all cleaned up and ready to go. But my question is what is the length that I need to cut them too? I forgot that the 1st gen tacos have an offset spring. I'm looking to get 2.5" to 3" lift. Can't wait to finish this project!

Ok here ya go, You'll want to measure from the end of bottom OEM leaf as shown, cut approx. 3.75" off the ends of the first donor leaf..

So do I keep the oem leaf pack and add on to it? I thought the only one that I keep is the main leaf.

I'm in the process of doing this as well. My understanding is that you can build off the factory pack or you can single out the main leaf and build off that. For the cut length, just measure the space between the stock ones and continue that same length until you have finished adding all the leafs that you want or run out of space. Which ever comes first.

Just now seeing it Derek & will get back with you shortly...:)

Generally adding to the current leaf pack is the way I do it but removing all but main leaf is another way to go especially for building a more "aggressive spring" . that said, you can usually attain the same results ride quality wise..

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    You got it....:)

So out of these two option, building off main leaf of adding leafs, which one is better? Or what are the different characteristics of the two?
