i used a little flap wheel i only had to remove like 1/16 on each side it was just enough so the u bolts didnt want to spread apart at the bottom

It's not an issue if you need to grind the sides of leaf pack a little to allow U bolts to loop over, or you can get a drill bit (uni bit would be best) & open the holes in bracket where U bolts go thru'.. either way is fine..

Sounds like you've got some thread stretch going on (which is pretty normal) its the amount of stretch thats to be considered.. What you CAN do is drop a couple washers over the U bolts with the stretch to take up that space of bad thread & go easy as you re-tighten, BUT MAKE THIS A TEMPORARY DEAL !! This is just for youy to safely get around for a short time till you get some Ubolts... remember... TEMPORARY !!!...:)

Just throwing this out there, I've got a 2nd gen leafpack all ready to bolt on for sale, it's a 6 leaf, gives roughly 3" of lift, very firm , great for hauling as well as off roading, price will be $325.00 (springs only) or $450 installed (special)

I'll make it official & post with pics shortly...

I just cant believe the difference these new springs made. I had no idea how bad my rear springs were until Volcom pointed it out to me.

I'm so glad he told me about OMD. Swear it feels like a brand new truck!

I had no idea what the thunk noise was, thought i needed a new diff, springs took care of that too!

Gotta love this forum, learn something new every day!
