Clearly someone has never driven down a mountain/country road in an open air vehicle....it's fantastic.

I think the big ass hood is more of a problem than the doors. What can do they do about the front end?

meh, it's a Jeep thing and should stay that way. Or at least not on Tacomas, I could see it looking good on an FJ

I fucking like them a lot, my old Jeep I used to drive around all the time without doors, Wheeling or not, and like someone else said earlier, fuck a clean interior, if you haven't done it, don't knock it, it's fun as fuck!

Those have been made for older Toyota trucks for a long time. Fun for a dedicated trail rig or summer-only beach cruiser but Tacoma doors are a pain to remove and install regularly.

I've never driven a vehicle without the doors and can absolutely see the appeal..but not on a Tacoma. Jeeps have an interior made to literally hose out. But to each their own.

While you should be watching the trail ahead sometimes you can't see everything. You may need a spotter to help guide you through tricky spots. Or get out of the truck to see what's in front of you. But being able to lean out the truck to get a better view is much easier with half doors or tube doors. I'm sure there are people who use them for looks but they are actually more about function then fashion. Then again there are a lot of mall crawlers where looks are all that matters.

Why not just go all the way and not have any doors at all?

Foot on the running board was always fun in my ex's JK(U:anonymous:) I'd rock em in some instances, but: 1. No locking interior storage (without MORE upgrades) 2. Taco doors are a PITA to take on/off 3. Have to use a bluetooth speaker / ghettoblaster for tunes.

Nice if youre rolling through rock gardens and need to see your obstacles as you approach with the front tires but literally nothing else functionally. Would suck if you come up on a water or mud crossing.

I think once my Tacoma has all the major mods I want done, I'll probably get these for spring/summer. And once I get a second car..

I think I'd just mount some cameras before I went all in on tube doors. Unless ... I could find a 3rd gen that was flood damaged or a repairable wreck for cheeps to take the sting out of gutting the rest of the interior. You can't have mud coming in unless you can pressure wash it back out again.
