    In September of 2021, the last Toyota Tacoma built in the United States, was assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas in San Antonio, TX.

    The first one was built on Thursday, August 6, 2010, a 2011 TRD Off-Road DCSB V6 4x4 6MT in Super White [040].

    First of the N300 3rd generation, were built in August 2015.

    As of that last unit, all Tacoma production is now 100% sourced from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Guanajuato in Apaseo Grande, Guanajuato, Mexico

    Or from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Baja California, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

    • Next generation Tacoma (920B) due in 2024, will be solely sourced from these two plants starting in December 2023.

    • Tacomas built at TMMBC, from February 1, 2005 to present all have the VINs starting with 3TM.
      • Generation 3 production began in August 2015 and should conclude in November 2023.
    • Tacomas built at TMMTX, from August 6, 2010 to September 2021 have the VINs starting with 5T.
      • Also applicable to N200 2nd generation pickups, built in both NUMMI in Fremont California, from September 14, 2004 to March 26, 2010 and 1st generation trucks built from January 1995 to August 2004.
    • Tacomas built at TMMGT, from December 16, 2019 to present have the VINs starting with 3TY

    OP forgot to mention two items:
    - Non union plant
    - 75% of the plant staff are contractors. Only 700 staff are Toyota employees

    Very well made. I knew some of this, but was surprised to see that production shifted late in 2021 - somewhere in my mind I thought it had shifted earlier such that all the 2021s onwards were being built in the new plant.

    Good info. I'm curious, why did they stop production in Texas? Seems pricey to build, outfit and staff a plant when you already have one up and running doing the same thing. I'm assuming it was getting too expensive to build in the US?
