.... Hi folks! I am shiftless because I do not yet have my ride.

After raising a family and seeing them graduate and move out, it's time for me to buy a toy just for me, stickshift, no automatic, 4X4, small engine, nice cab, some creature comforts, that's the ticket. My turn to be selfish a bit.

Problem is, they don't sell the 4 banger in a 4X4 way up north so I will have to look in the states. Would be nice to pick up a shiney new one but the dealers seem to be only willing to deal with a U.S. resident. Seems odd. The Tacoma is made in the U.S., the ones they sell up here are made in the U.S. Can't buy a new one in the U.S. Frustrating. Anyway, I have time to work or wait that out.

I have been watching Tacomaworld for a while, especially liked the thread that shows how to install daytime running lights (buying a U.S. truck without them would be a show stopper at the border). Looking forward to being in a truck rather than on the sidelines.

    Signed,

    Frustrated and frozen

You'd have to wait to get it but couldn't you custom order the truck?

Trucks up here are anything between $4k and $8k more than in the USA, for the exact same truck. That is why so many cross the border to buy a truck. I would order one except that you can't get a dealer to sell to you (pretty odd feeling, a car dealer telling you he can't sell you a truck). I'm going to keep looking around for a while before I would ever consider buying one up here.

    These are strange times.
