We take in a 36k rubicon every two weeks as trade on a new Tacoma or 4Runner.
They might be off road capable but they’re built like garbage.
Smart owners want nothing to do with them out of warranty

unfortunately jeep resale is based a lot on perception, the wrangler/CJ has a storied history from back when it used to be an awesome vehicle, and it still is an awesome platform to make an awesome vehicle, unfortunately a lot of people that don't know much about offroad vehicles but want the image instantly think of wranglers

This is why I have AAA which will tow up to 200 miles for free. Totally worth the small yearly price you pay.

Just for the sake of adding pics... I have way better examples than this, but this is all I could find off hand that was still on my phone (since parting ways with Photobucket).
Of course this wasn't even all that challenging either... my daughter crawled right through it, and she didn't need a jeep or a taco to do it.

Yup. I don't know if that other guy you quoted has ever been rock crawling, but my old 100 could've gone through that. Look through the 80-series section on ih8mud and you'll get your fill. LC's are absolutely phenomenal. That 200 Proseur posted looks great as well.

That said, Jeeps are terrific crawlers. I wouldn't mind getting one as a 3rd vehicle.

Out here, AAA won't tow you if you "more than 5 miles off paved roads."

Jeeps are good here in CO, especially because of the short wheelbase and the types of trails we have here. But I didn't want to get one since everyone seems to have one and I don't really trust the reliability of them. So I got an Xterra instead and it is awesome offroad when setup right. It did pretty damn well stock too.

Thank you. Our 200 does plenty of rock crawling, and does it reliably and comfortably. I have had 60,80, and 100 before my 200. I am on my 2nd 200.

Well yeah but when doing anything serious I'm with other people who could tow me out to the main road easily enough.

35s, 4+ inches of lift, and a tummy tuck. Close but it didn't touch. If it would have it wouldn't matter because the flat belly armor is front to rear. Would take one heck of a Taco build to clear this simple little finish to the obstacle with its long wheel base. Different vehicles for different purposes. :)

Yup 88YJ on 37s, 4.88 Ford 8.8 etc. Debated selling it when I got the Taco but decided to make it a crawler

Future mods include, new roll cage, 350 small block, 4speed 2.5 ton truck tranny...all mod money is going to taco atm

Nice I have the Nth Degree Tummy Tuck

Zero chance a 200 can go over the basic obstacles we go

People define rock crawling differently. For me, its not something a low clearance IFS vehicle can actually do.

Sounds like a transportation damaged vehicle. Under a certain dollar amount it doesn't get reported .

Just goes to show you how inferior the wheels we all love are to a good ole pair of legs on tough terrain. :transformer:
