Local tree service company got a contract to take down all the standing dead ash in the county parks. It's an embarrassment of riches for firewood gathering over here!

Of course! I'm young and don't know any better! Luckily it's ash so all you have to do is give it a dirty look and it flies apart. I got some hard maple from the same lot last month and it nearly broke me. I ended up having to rip it into pieces with my chain saw. Now I'm a little more selective with what I grab.

I just found this old picture of my taco towing my sailboat. I had just purchased it, and I had to tow it over three mountain passes to put it in the ocean. I burned up the clutch, and I got some very concerned looks from fellow motorists. But it all worked out.

We’ve done a lot of gardening this year trying to get everything into shape. Next year we should be ready to plant quite a few things including corn and potatoes. The Tacoma was valuable for hauling away dirt and bringing in lines for sprinklers and drip irrigation.

I also decided that grass parkways are a waste so I opted to tear the grass out. Unfortunately I’m a crazy person and decided to do the rock fill just as the rain storm I’ve been in transitioned to a snow storm. The truck has been fantastic though.

How does the Taco do pulling that? I am looking for an enclosed trailer about that size and worry about how it will pull.

Personally, I'm quite happy with it. I live in Central FL and I try to keep it within a few hundred miles, but I did take it to Georgia last December. It has the tow package and I have a brake controller installed, however the only other mod I want to do specifically related to the trailer is swapping to 4:88 gears. The gear hunting issue is accentuated by weight and wind resistance, but its the easiest way to give the truck a mechanical advantage. The want for the gear change specifically is because at 65, the truck really wants to go into OD, but it struggles a bit there. If you let it get into OD, your speed slowly declines until the truck downshifts again. The gears would raise the RPMs in that speed range and ideally I would be able to cruise in OD on the highway. I've also got addon tow mirrors for when I pull it.

It has a load leveling hitch. Braking and acceleration are really pretty great, wind resistance (55+) and highway speeds is the only place it struggles.

Awesome news! I have a manual, so that solves that part. My intent is to keep it within Indiana as it will be a work trailer.
