Got my 5100s and eibachs in today. Compressed the coils the old fashioned way instead of paying a ridiculous amount of money to get them installed. Took me a while to do, but a couple hours of work is better than a couple hundred dollars. Installed pics to come

Super jelly man. Explain this "compressed coils the old fashioned way" to a noob please? I'll be getting suspension later this year and don't wanna pay to get it installed haha

Nothing for me. A guy at work had one similar to that picture. I think they are about $40.

Man, I was always under the impression that you already had some kind of a lift. And those spring compressors are superrrr sketchy.. I have some and have used them before and I will still probably take mine to a shop to get the eibachs put on the billies when I get them.

How much do shops charge to put the springs on?

I was hesitant at first, but the ones I had were a little better than the ones in the picture. Proper safety precautions can go a long way even as minor as a pair of safety glasses

I called around today for quotes and if they even compresses springs, it was $90. To install and compress was $180.

    That is ridiculous to me.

For sure.. I'll see what it costs around here. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there

Can't wait to see installed pics man! I considered compressing mine myself too but I always get nervous so I had a shop do it. They only charged me 60 which didn't seem too bad to me

60 isn't bad at all. I'm in Illinois right now so i don't really know what shops are good, so I just did it by myself. Back home I could have gotten them done for free! Pics this afternoon!

It cost me $40 I believe but that was like 5-6 years ago. I live in a very rural area so there are mom and pop shops all over. I took it to a shop my cousin worked at.
